Re: War and Peace on DVD
I would highly recommend this DVD to anyone. I've seen a tape of the
French telecast, and it's a very moving performance. Zambello's
production is super (much better than the Met's recent one) and Gunn
is a marvelous Andrei, complete with a tear-jerker of a death scene.
Even if you're not familiar with the opera, this DVD should make you
into a fan!
