Hi everyone, I just joined the group. I'm 35 and grew up on Long
Island, NY, went to school in Miami, FL and lived ther 14 years but
now live in Austin, TX. As a teen I listened to WLIR FM, NY the
station that "Dared to be different" and the only station to play Nik
Kershaw songs other than "Wouldn't it be Good". I have been a fan
from the start and own all the early albums and 12" singles but
haven't heard the latest releases. I also have this little gem in my
collection which I will master to CD shortly and release to the
fans. I have a live Nik Kershaw concert that was broadcast live from
The Ritz nightclub in NYC on WLIR FM in 1984. The sound quality is
superb and contains all the tracks from the first 2 albums. Here's
the setlist:
Roses, Dancing Girls, Cloak and Dagger,Shame on You, Save the Whales,
The Riddle, Know How, Bogart,You Might, Wild Horses, Gone to Pieces,
Wide Boy, Human Racing, Drum Talk, Wouldn't it be Good, Faces, Don
Quixote and I won't Let the Sun Go Down.
I don't know if this show/bootleg is already floating around out
there and widely circulated among fans as I have been out of the Nik
Kershaw loop of late. If this material hasn't been available I would
most like to share this with all the Nik Kershaw fans out there. If
you're interested in this show let me know so we can work out a
trade. I still need to master the concert to cd so it will be a
short while before I can distribute it. I would like to trade for
this cd and I'm looking for stuff to complete my collection as I help
you complete yours. I would be interested in trading for rare
remixes, demos, live shows and videos of the following artists: Nik
Kershaw, Alphaville, Depeche Mode, Erasure, Yaz, Men Without Hats,
Pet Shop Boys, Duran Duran, Beastie Boys, A-ha and Nine Inch Nails.
Please feel free to contact me at karialec@.... I can't wait
to hear from some true Nik Kershaw fans. Thanks for your time.
Regards,
Alec
PS- I also have live radio broadcast releases of Depeche Mode, Yaz,
INXS, Men Without Hats and Erasure if interested.
