Hi Friends,
FiddleSticks is part of two excellent Hurricane Benefit Concerts coming up this weekend. Please come to one or both and help keep much needed funds flowing to the Red Cross for Gulf Coast refugee relief. And our offer for hurricane donations for buying our CDs from CDBaby continues.
PROVO, Friday September 23, 6-10pm:
Charlotte England, the wife of the late BYU Professor Gene England, is sponsoring a musical openhouse-Gulf Coast fundraiser at her home in Provo. The date is September 23 (Friday night) from 6 to 10pm. Donations will be requested at the door. There will be all kinds of fun music, ranging from pianist Reid Nibley to hip-hopper Alex Boye to Celtic folkies FiddleSticks. And refreshments. All performances and food are donated, so 100 percent of the donations will go direct to disaster relief. Plus Charlotte is a charming, elegant lady and supporter of the arts, and meeting her is worth the price of admission. (By the way, the price of admission is up to you... but please be generous!)
Where is it happening? 1775 Andrus Lane, Provo -- which is just off upper University Parkway in Provo, across from the Marriott Center parking lot. Mapquest the address for directions or call Charlotte England at 801 373 1775.
SALT LAKE: Monday September 26, 7pm
For our Salt Lake friends, FiddleSticks is also appearing at a benefit concert being hosted by "Heart and Soul," a remarkable non-profit organization that has brought live music and warm cheer to thousands of people in shut-in institutions like senior centers, prisons, and hospitals during the past 11 years. Tickets are $10 per show, but of course additional donations are welcome.
There will be four great performers at the show: the high energy Wildflowers, an all girl family bluegrass band; Inish, a fabulous Celtic duo; the vibrant, five piece, Celtic band Stonecircle, and of course, the traditional and original Celtic fusion tunes of FiddleSticks.
Venue, sound, lights, and performances are all being donated, so that all proceeds can go to the American Red Cross hurricane assistance fund. All concerts will be at the First Unitarian Church, 569 South 1300 East, beginning at 7 pm. Light snacks available for purchase. Tickets are available at the door. For more information, call Heart and Soul at 801-467-5499.

CDBaby Red Cross CD Donations
Our project to donate our CD sales proceeds continues through the end of September. In cooperation with CDBaby.com, our very cool on-line distributor, we are now DONATING ALL PROCEEDS from our CD sales to the Red Cross for hurricane disaster relief. (We've had great success with this project so far: we sold out of our inventory for two of our CDs and had to restock!!)
Just go to our site on CDBaby, buy as usual, and the full amount of our share of the CD purchase price will be transferred directly to the Red Cross!
Here's the link: www.cdbaby.com/fiddlesticks
Easy as that! You get our music, we get a little good Karma, and the Red Cross gets a little more help for their efforts at restoring people's lives after the hurricane.
Thanks! If you've been waiting for a extra good reason to buy some FiddleSticks music, this is it!
Marco, Becca, Katie and Liz!
