Hey FiddleSticks friends --
August is here and FiddleSticks is busy playing hot Celtic music. Come see
a live show and hear some of the the new music we’re right now busy
recording for our new CD “Cat and the Fiddle” -- it will be on the shelves
early Autumn!

Here’s our August schedule:

PROVO
Friday, Aug 9: 6-8pm
Provo Local Color Street Fair
Center Street in Provo

The Provo Downtown Alliance is bringing some life to the streets on Fridays
all summer. There is food, crafts, music and other performing groups all up
and down Center Street. Just say “No” to the mall -- and come to the real
downtown. FiddleSticks’s exact location is still a well-guarded secret, but
we’ll probably be performing in the first block west of University.

SUNDANCE
Sunday, August 11: 2-5pm
Sundance Sounds of Summer Music Series
Ray’s Lawn (Base of Ray’s Lift)
Sundance Resort, Provo Canyon

Sundance presents live music every Sunday afternoon during the summer.
Bring a blanket or lawn chairs, have a picnic or enjoy the Sundance Barbecue
right where we play, and wind down and enjoy the spectacular scenery. The
music’s free! Here’s a link to driving directions and a map.

OREM:
Friday, August 30: 2-3pm
Timpanogos Storytelling Festival
Olmstead Park
800 North and 1600 East, Orem

One of the best storytelling festivals in America, the Timpanogos festival
brings in storytellers from around the world. We’ll be playing during a
“pause” in the storytelling, from about 2 to 3, in the main music stage at
the Olmstead. The site of the festival is a beautiful private park with
towering trees and meandering streams, located at the mouth of Provo Canyon
and cooled by canyon breezes and the Provo River. It's a hidden treasure
that is unaccessible except for this event. Don't miss it! For information
or tickets, call (801) 229-7436 or go online at http://www.timpfest.org.

OREM

Saturday, August 31: 7-8:30pm
Timpanogos Storytelling Festival
Laughin' Night at the Shell
Scera Shell, 600 South, 400 East, Orem

The highlight of the Storytelling Festival each year is the final event at
the Scera Shell, an large outdoor amphitheater which seats an audience of
several thousand. FiddleSticks will be playing the preshow, starting around
7:00pm. The Storytelling begins at 8:30. It’s the most popular part of the
festival, so come early to hear our show, bring a picnic, and save a good
place. You can bring blankets, lawn chairs, rent chairs at the Shell, or
stretch out on the grass and listen to stories under the stars. Because it
sometimes gets cool in the evening, you may also want to bring a jacket or
sweater. By the way, the storytellers featured on Saturday night at the
Shell are Willy Claflin, Donald Davis, Carmen Deedy, Rex Ellis, Beth Horner,
Jay O'Callahan, Laura Pershin, The Storycrafters, and Betty Ann Wylie.
