OREM:
Friday, August 30: 2-3pm
Timpanogos Storytelling Festival
Olmstead Park
800 North and 1600 East, Orem
One of the best storytelling festivals in America, the Timpanogos festival
brings in storytellers from around the world. We’ll be playing during a
“pause” in the storytelling, from about 2 to 3, in the main music stage at
the Olmstead. The site of the festival is a beautiful private park with
towering trees and meandering streams, located at the mouth of Provo Canyon
and cooled by canyon breezes and the Provo River. It's a hidden treasure
that is unaccessible except for this event. You park at a church on about
600 East 800 North in Orem, and take a shuttle to the festival. Don't miss
it! For information or tickets, call (801) 229-7436 or go online at
http://www.timpfest.org.
OREM:
Saturday, August 31: 7-8:30pm
Timpanogos Storytelling Festival
Laughin' Night at the Shell
Scera Shell
600 South and 400 East, Orem
The highlight of the Storytelling Festival each year is the final event at
the Scera Shell, a large outdoor amphitheater which seats an audience of
several thousand. FiddleSticks will be playing the preshow, starting around
7:00pm. The Storytelling begins at 8:30. It’s the most popular part of the
festival, so come early to hear our show, bring a picnic, and save a good
place. You can bring blankets, lawn chairs, rent chairs at the Shell, or
stretch out on the grass and listen to stories under the stars. Because it
sometimes gets cool in the evening, you will also want to bring a jacket or
sweater. By the way, the storytellers featured on Saturday night at the
Shell are Willy Claflin, Donald Davis, Carmen Deedy, Rex Ellis, Beth Horner,
Jay O'Callahan, Laura Pershin, The Storycrafters, and Betty Ann Wylie. For
information or tickets, call (801) 229-7436 or go online at
http://www.timpfest.org.

First Fridays Downtown Concert
Provo Tabernacle
100 S University Ave, Provo
The Provo City Arts Council sponsors live musical concerts at the Tabernacle
on the First Friday of every month, starting in September. We’re proud to
be presenting the first concert of the 2002-2003 season. The Provo
Tabernacle is a beautiful Victorian concert space, with stained glass
windows and a soaring ceiling, and the acoustics are great! And it will be
lots more fun if we can pack the hall, so please come!
Tickets are only $2, and are available in advance from the Provo Arts
Council, 425 West Center (the former library, upstairs), telephone 852-6646.
On the day of the concert tickets will be sold at the Window Box Gallery
just across the street (North) from the Tabernacle, at 62 West Center. You
can’t exactly buy tickets at the door – you have to walk over to the Window
Box, so please plan to come a little early. Doors open at 7:30.
SALT LAKE CITY:
Saturday, September 14: 2-3pm
The Avenues Street Fair 2002
Second Avenue from I street to N street.
Salt Lake City
The Avenues Street Fair is the longest running neighborhood fair in the
state. It’s got over 120 vendor booths, lots of live music, and of course,
tree-lined streets and funky architecture. This year the fair runs along
Second Avenue, from I Street to N Street. FiddleSticks will be playing at
the “Heart & Soul” stage, which will probably be on the corner of 2nd Avenue
and K Street. Come hear us and check out Heart & Soul’s great work -
bringing live music to rest homes, hospitals, and other institutionalized
audiences. It’s free and lots of fun.

Opening for Small Potatoes
Timpanogos Intimate Concert Series
647 North 1280 East, Orem
FiddleSticks will open for the dynamic Chicago based singer/songwriting duo
of Jacquie Manning and Rich Prezioso, who travel the country as “Small
Potatoes.” They are local favorites, and say it has taken them years of
careful indecision to develop a repetoire they describe as "celtic to
cowboy." They are superb musicians and put on an excellent show. Dirty
Linen Magazine called them "one of the most polished, inventive, and
entertaining shows on the circuit." For directions or information see TICS'
web page at http://come.to/timpanogos or call Boyd Petersen at 375-4072).
Tickets are $8 at the door.
