Hi Folks,
here’s a short reminder about our Big Tabernacle Show, this Friday night
(September 6) in Provo. Other upcoming gigs are listed below.....

PROVO

Friday, September 6: 8pm
First Fridays Downtown Concert
Provo Tabernacle
100 S University Ave, Provo

The Provo City Arts Council sponsors live musical concerts at the Tabernacle
on the First Friday of every month, starting in September. We’re proud to
be presenting the first concert of the 2002-2003 season. The Provo
Tabernacle is a beautiful Victorian concert space, with stained glass
windows and a soaring ceiling, and the acoustics are great! And it will be
lots more fun if we can pack the hall, so please come!

OK, we know we’re competing with BYU Football, but hey, they’ll all be back
in the Lavell Stadium in a couple of weeks, and FiddleSticks plays the Provo
Tabernacle only once in five years! Our last Tabernacle show was in March
1997, and that was to a packed house. This time, well, half the population
will be squashed into the football stadium, but for the rest of you: Come to
the Tabernacle. Anyway, kickoff for the game’s at 5pm, and we don’t start
until 8pm. So even if you need to put in an appearance at the game to
justify those season tickets, sneak out at 7:30 and come on over to the
Tabernacle. You’ll miss all the traffic.

For non-football types, or you loyal Utah Fans in Salt Lake, the good news
is that by 7:30 when the doors open, the traffic will be all back to normal
and the freeway will be clear. So don’t be shy, come on down!

Tickets are only $2, and are available all day Friday at the Window Box
Gallery just across the street (North) from the Tabernacle, at 62 West
Center. Or you can get your tickets at the door. Well, actually, you can’t
exactly buy tickets at the door – you have to walk over to the Window Box,
so please plan to come a little early. Doors open at 7:30, the music starts
at 8pm.

SALT LAKE CITY
Saturday, September 14: 2-3pm
The Avenues Street Fair 2002
Second Avenue from I street to N street.
Salt Lake City

The Avenues Street Fair is the longest running neighborhood fair in the
state. It’s got over 120 vendor booths, lots of live music, and of course,
tree-lined streets and funky architecture. This year the fair runs along
Second Avenue, from I Street to N Street. FiddleSticks will be playing at
the “Heart & Soul” stage, which will probably be on the corner of 2nd Avenue
and K Street. Come hear us and check out Heart & Soul’s great work -
bringing live music to rest homes, hospitals, and other institutionalized
audiences. It’s free and lots of fun.

OREM:
Wednesday, Sept 25: 7pm
Opening for Small Potatoes
Timpanogos Intimate Concert Series
647 North 1280 East, Orem

FiddleSticks will open for the dynamic Chicago based singer/songwriting duo
of Jacquie Manning and Rich Prezioso, who travel the country as “Small
Potatoes.” They are local favorites, and say it has taken them years of
careful indecision to develop a repetoire they describe as "celtic to
cowboy." They are superb musicians and put on an excellent show. Dirty
Linen Magazine called them "one of the most polished, inventive, and
entertaining shows on the circuit." For directions or information see TICS'
web page at http://come.to/timpanogos or call Boyd Petersen at 375-4072).
Tickets are $8 at the door.

FiddleSticks is a family musical group that performs folk songs and
traditional tunes from the Celtic lands, from England, and from America. The
band is made up of three young sisters, Rebecca, Kathryn, and Elizabeth
Davis, and their father Mark. Featured instruments include fiddle, flutes,
cello, bodhran (Irish drum), guitar and vocals -- plus dulcimer, bass, and
drums. (Check out our web page at www.fiddle-sticks.com)

FiddleSticks have four recordings in print: The Sampler (1998), Playing
Favorites (1999), Cold Fusion (2000), and Time and Again (2001), and a fifth
new CD soon to be released in 2002: “Cat and the Fiddle.”

CDs are available at all performances, in Utah bookstores, online at
