well, our big news is that Becca, our vocalist and whistle/flute player, is
engaged to marry Matthew Stevenson in April. They met playing music
together in the BYU folk music ensemble, so of course it's a harmonious
match. Matt plays bazouki and pennywhistle, so be on the lookout for a new
FiddleStickler!

13th Annual BYU Hunger Banquet

This annual event mixes a rollicking good time with a powerful message about
world food distribution and hunger. Your admission ticket includes dinner
and lots of entertainment, and your menu will be randomly assigned by the
luck of the draw. Kind of like real life, a few will eat well and
plentifully, while the great majority will make do with less. Entertainment
includes FiddleSticks, Simple People, and Grupo Folklore Latino. All
proceeds go to various humanitarian and development projects worldwide.
Tickets are $6 at the door, or $5 in advance at the WSC info booth or in 273

"Celtic Stew" Music Festival

The first annual Salt Lake City Celtic Music Festival – a.k.a. Celtic Stew –
brings together some of the most exciting and diverse Celtic musicians in
an amazing 7-hour event. Also featured at the festival will be Stone
Circle, Idlewild, Donegal House Band, Shanahy, Inish, Last Night's Fun, and
Yankee Clipper. The event starts at 6:00pm; FiddleSticks will be playing at
about 7:30. Admission is $12 (for 5 bands!). If you like Celtic music,

The wonderful people at the Read Leaf independent bookstore sponsor live
music every Friday night. This is the series you just saw featured on the
front page of the Daily Herald entertainment section. Come browse the
shelves, enjoy the music, support one of the few independent non-chain
bookstores still standing, and enjoy some St. Patrick's season music live
and in person! Free!

Barnes & Noble, once the epitome of the bookstore music café, has cut down
their series to only four events per year. So here's your chance!
FiddleSticks will be appearing with the acoustic band "Greenville." Come
try out their frothy hot chocolate and enjoy the tunes. Admission free.
