Hi Everybody
We had a really fun MidWest Tour, including our week-long gig in Nauvoo.
Now we're home and ready to play some hot summer Celtic tunes. And we'll be
on TV! Here's info about the Pearl Awards Broadcast, and our July
performances:
PEARL AWARDS BROADCAST:
You may recall that last month we modestly informed you that FiddleSticks
played at the Pearl Awards Ceremony (the "Utah Grammys"), and that we won an
award for "Best Contemporary Instrumental Recording." Well, now you can see
it all for yourself, on TV. The Pearls Extravaganza is being broadcast this
Sunday, July 13 on ABC4 (KTVX) at 6 p.m. You'll get to see us play a tune
from our new upcoming album, watch us react with amazement when they
announced our name, and see us stand awkwardly at the podium and try to
think of clever things to say. Plus, there are other great performances
from Kenneth Cope, Hilary Weeks, Eclipse, Jericho Road and many more. Don't
miss it!"
PAYSON:
Saturday, July 12: 11-12noon
Payson Scottish Festival
Main Bandstand
Payson City Park, Payson UT
This is one of our longest continuous FiddleSticks traditions, and one of
our most enjoyable shows. Payson could be Utah's little City that time
forgot, but everyone remembers it each July for the Payson Scottish
Festival. It's free, it's fun, there's music all day, plus pipe band
competitions, Scottish athletics, lots of crafts and Clan booths. Don't miss
it!
SALT LAKE CITY:
Saturday, July 12: 4pm
Days of '47 Culture Fest
Historic Deseret Village
Social Hall Stage
2601 E. Sunnyside Avenue, SLC
This year's culture fest at the historic village of Deseret at This Is the
Place Historic Park will be better than ever. The park will be free to the
public all day, and the musical events will take place in the shady Bowery
and the (air conditioned) Social Hall. Come enjoy this walk back in time,
cool old buildings, great music, and historic reenactments. Free!
SALT LAKE CITY
Monday, July 14 - noon
Brown Bag Concert Series
Exchange Place Plaza (355 S. Main)
SLC
The Salt Lake Arts Council hosts free lunchtime music all summer long -- and
this summer marks its twenty-sixth season. Designed to bring the performing
arts to non-traditional audiences in non-traditional settings, this year's
lineup promises to fill the city with life, art and - most of all - music.
Of course, it's all free. Invite your friends, co-workers and clients for
lunch and come over for the outdoor show. Go to
http://www.ci.slc.ut.us/arts/brownbag/ or call 801.596.5000. Free!!
HEBER-MIDWAY
Saturday, July 19 - 7-9 pm
Homestead Resort
700 North Homestead Drive

Midway is one of those most magical, classic country resorts. And they're
adding to the magic with live music all summer. We're there on July 19,
under the stars. Come up to Midway and see us!
