I've been a member of this group for ages, and avidly read the posts,
but never actually posted myself.
So in a way, this is a good excuse to come out of the woodwork :)
I've just set up my band website www.dragonhead.me.uk and as No-Man
are a huge influence on me, some of you may like it. There's even some
free tunes there.

And I promise this won't be my first and last post.

Thanks for your time

Now being seeded at http://www.mininova.org/tor/271254 :

This is a soundboard recording from the above gig recorded by Theo
Travis. Band line up on the night were:
Tim Bowness - vocals
Michael Bearpark - guitar
Stephen Bennet - keyboards
Peter Chilvers - piano
Pete Morgan - bass
Andy Booker - electronic drums
A little bit about each member (written by Richard Smith)
Mike Bearpark (guitarist) is in Darkroom and Samuel Smiles with Tim.
He's a lovely guy who's helped me out big time with my
no-man biog.
Peter Chilvers is a fantastic musician who's done a great album with
Tim called California, Norfolk
And Pete Morgan is one of the co-founders of the Burning Shed label.
Andy Booker was going to be Mick Karn's drummer on the forthcoming
tour
before it got cancelled :-(
Stephen Bennett co-produced My Hotel Year (I think) and is in Henry
Fool with Tim (more prog-rock than no-man, not my fave Tim project
but
still has its moments).
They're great musicians and lovely guys to chat to too. Such a shame
they're not more successful because they sure deserve it.
Rear cover art is included.
Special thanks go to Richard Smith for making it available and
adding the detail, Theo Travis for recording it and Derek 'The Mac'
Currie for helping distribute it.
DO NOT SELL.

Hi Carol,

sorry, I have no idea which would be the best format to send your
songs. I would recommend that you use a format that most people
recognise and can easily download. That way more people can access
your music. I hope this helps. Good Luck

Hello,

is there anyone out there? Anyone got any thoughts on Tim's new album
and also the Centrozoon DVD?

I think it's probably Tim's best work to date and the most commercial
since Flowermouth. Love it too bits. A real grower and great album to
put on now that the dark nights are closing in upon us again in the
UK.

The Centrozoon DVD is a chance to see a rare Tim live appearance. The
songs are brilliant, reminiscent of the Sylvian Fripp collaboration,
The First Day but more restrained with more a European techno feel
rather than a rocky edge. Well worth buying.

Anyone else?

Just a few words to introduce myself.
My name is Ilaria, I am 30 and I live in a small town near Verona.
I work as a freelance translator - though my English is not always
as fluent as I wish it was!
I have been a no-man's land resident for nearly nine years after
buying "Flowermouth" and the Bowness-Barbieri CD "Flame".
Other favourites include John Foxx, The Associates, Dead Can Dance,
Tuxedomoon, Japan, The Church, Porcupine Tree (of course), early
Simple Minds and Recoil, to name only a few. I tend to follow all
the related/solo works of all the above. Although I have been an
avid music collector for about fifteen years, I am by no means an
expert and I thank all of you in advance for all the advice and the
information you will be able to offer!

                                           Ilaria,

Hi everybody from Italy,
I'm new on this group and I've found excellent artworks on Photos

named "No man is an island".
Can anyone explain what is it?
One more question: is weeding possible on this group, or there is an
other one where this is possible?

Thank you

Hi Joey:

Have you ever been to Oregon? Where are you from? Things here are
going great, I survived my first week of Graduate classes! The
weather here is hotter than blazes. I don't know if I can take it!

Let us know what you think of No-Man. I adore them! I haven't heard
of the other groups you mentioned. Care to educate me?

Well Marla, thanks for the heads up. the music you describe is
something i will check out. I'm a pianist and like, BT, Lazy Dog,
Naked Music, so this sounds along this genre. Great success with the

Hi Joey:

Welcome to the site. I am not sure if I could even begin to describe
No-man's music. Its a blend of the dreamy, love-lorn ambience to
heart thumping dance progressive stuff. Its all good in my opinion.
Have you ever heard of any of their albums? The latest
album "Together Were Stranger" is very very good. I would recommend
that you get a copy of that or perhaps the following: "Returning
Jesus," "Wild Opera," or "Flowermouth." They are delectable pieces of
ear candy and each album is different from the others.

By the way, my name is Marla. I am suppose to be the moderator for
this group, but am having a hard time doing it:) I live in Oregon, 28
years old. I am going to be starting my Masters degree in Education
this coming Monday, I hope this list doesn't go by the wayside.

Any other questions about No-Man, ask away. The people who subscribe
to this site are very knowledgable.

Just to say hello, really...

I really got into No-man in 1994 through a magazine called WIRE which
had an interview with the band + a free cd sampler attached featuring
2 tracks from the album Flowermouth and 2 from Bowness/Barbieri's
Flame.
I actually discovered them in 1991 with the song "Days in the Trees"
constantly playing on the radio (I lived in France at the time).

I have a query here...This Yahoo Group is called Flowermouth, right?
For the last 2 years I've been trying to get hold of a track called
Flowermouth which I think was released very early in No-man's career
on a tape (or was it a cd ?) ep titled "Swagger". I checked the no-
man site and the lyrics for the song are there but the ep has long
been deleted... Would anyone here be in possession of that track? Can
you help?

Has anyone listened to Tim Bowness? Peter Chilvers album "California,
Norfolk" ? What a masterpiece!
