I'm certified Kindergarten through twelfth grade, but I would be happier
teaching 6th through 12th! Actually right now, I am the choir director at the
junior high in town (8th-9th grade), but that is only til the end of the
semester. The high school choir director took a leave of absence so they asked
me to take the junior high position until the end of this term. Hopefully that
will assist me in getting a job as a band director - people that I apply to will
see that i have experience outside of my student teaching semester! I think I
will really enjoy this job - and it'll give me a new perspective on teaching
music! Plus, doing this will give me something worthwhile to do rather than
substituting(aka babysitting) when teachers are gone! Not that I wouldn't have
enjoyed subbing, but with the assignments I have been getting, I was
babysitting. Oh well - I actually get to do something with music now so I'm a
