Re: Advice for a flute pilgrimage?

I think you may be surprised how many famous fluties will let you
have a consultation lesson! Sometimes it may cost though. If you can
afford it, perhaps try some summer courses/schools first so that you
get your face known. Then perhaps you can work for the various
courses that happen in some way - even in an admin post if necessary.

Of course there are many great teachers and players out there who
are not famous but will have valid advice to offer and by playing
with them you can learn loads.

If you were ever in the Wilds of Northern Scotland then for sure you
can come and play with us!! (even stay and have a shower and not be
a "smelly, greasy American girl").

I think it's a great idea and I think you will be surprised by how
many offers you might get! Perhaps just set up one or two things and
then take everything on referral from there. (For example, if you
had a lesson with Wibb, he might put you onto some of his European
flute friends)

There are several players on this list who have experience of
learning out with their own country! (I went to England once!
<gggg>) Come on Morven - tell all about your German experience -
Domski??

Looking forward to reading more about this!!

Kaz
(Who is just back from a Ceilidh on the West Coast that did not
finish till breakfast!! and who can hardly keep her eyes open!!)
