Hi All!
I have a question.
I live in Finland. On a recent trip to the USA I bought a YFL-22
Yamaha flute for my son. I didn't know it is an older phased out
model. (OK - I know - I should have done more homework) It looks like
it is in good shape to me, i.e. no dents, finnish OK, around 4 yellow
pads. I have to take it to the repair shop Monday to get some new
pads and some of the keys adjusted.
He has an Armstrong before with a crooked mouthpeice that he started
with which he will play while the other is in the shop.
Here is my question: Is a 20 year old flute YFL-22 Yamaha like that
still going to be OK for an 11 year old starting his 3rd year? Or,
should I have it fixed, sell it, and buy a newer model.
Any advice is appreciated.
Cheers,
Mike
