Re: [Flute Pastels] Re: Repertoire writen between 1850 and 1900!   Message List

Hi Carole, many thanks for your suggestions, I've given up and am going to play
the Faure Fantasie. The concert has very specific dates, the music has to be
written between 1850 and 1900! Not a lot to play with! At least with the
cello I've got two Brahms sonatas and a Grieg sonata to chose from! I've
already played most of these pieces at one time or another, but currently
working on doing the ABRSM Diploma, Enesco, Chaminade and probably Syrinx. How
about you? The most recent concert I played some of Hilary Taggarts Pictures
for solo flute and Poulenc complete sonata.

Many thanks for your ideas.

Karen.

My - this really did rack my brains!! I could not find anything in
your date range.

I bet everything I am about to suggest, you already thought of .....

Hindemith - Acht Stucke - written in 1927 - outwith your dates I know
but perhaps worth considering!

Honegger - Danse de la Chevre - again outwith your dates (1919) but
worth considering!

Ibert - Piece pour Flute Seul but I am not entirely sure when this
was written.

Varese - Density 21.5 written in 1931

I'm sure this has not helped at all - what else are you playing?

Carole
