I used the Roland V-bass with my 34" Anthony Jackson 6, with the GK3B pickup and
it worked great. I have since sold the Roland and the AJ6 is currently for sale.

I coach (and of course play the bass in) a band with young people with special
needs (http://
home.arcor.de/selfrock). Recently our guitar player has left the band, so I'm
the only
instrument besides the drums with six singers. We are searching for a keyboard
or guitar
player for months without success.
My idea is to play some orchestral sounds and chords (simultaneously with the
bass line) with
a MIDI pickup converter, I never thought I'd need that... My question is: did
anyone of You try
that with a Fodera six-string?
I ran into three different systems: the Axon AIX-103, the Roland, GK-3B (with
GR-20), and
the YAMAHA B1-D. For me the ROLAND seems to be the best, I've downloaded the
pick-up's
user manual and it says You can adjust it to six-string basses with 19mm
spacing, which is
my Imperial six' spacing, but I think theres not enough room for the controller
unit on the
bass in the "normal" position between pots and bridge...
Is there anyone who has any experiences with bass-to-MIDI, or do You know some
other
internet sources?
Thank You so much in advance,
Hartmut (from Germany)
