Brazilian Rosewood on face.
5 piece neck through body (birdseye maple and rosewood) with ebony
fretboard
Curly Maple Body.
1/16" ebony separating all wood sections.

There are a couple of minor indents in the back (see close up photo
in photo album under photos "1984 Fodera Monarch Bass"), and some wear
on the surface of the tuning machines, otherwise it is in excellent
condition.

The neck is perfect and plays amazing.

The electronics are in perfect condition, the preamp is Foderas 3rd
generation (I kept having him update it as the electronics improved),
I am not sure who it is made by, but I am sure we could find out if
necessary.

This bass was a complete custom job done when Fodera consisted of
Vinny, Joey and one assistant that they were training. All the wood
was hand picked by myself and Vinny. We chose the Brazilian rosewood
for the face not only for its beauty, but also because they only had
enough for 5 instruments (one of which went to Anthony Jackson). The
thumb rest was handcarved out of ebony by Vinny. The pearl inlay of my
initials on the head stock was designed by Vinny.

I have retired from playing and having this beautiful instrument
sitting in a closet just seems wrong.
