7 String Bass Pickup.   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #2580 of 2641 |
Hello Everyone..

Hope you all are doing great.

I am planning to build a custom made 7 string bass with an experienced
Luthier. I am planning to use Bartolini pickups and pre-amp. I have the pre-amp
with me. Its a Bartolini 3 way active with a mid-selector switch. I am still on
a look out for the correct pick up model from Bartolini. Couldn't find details
on Bartolini website for a 7 string model. The way I see from
www.bestbassgear.com is 'Bartolini - G6' may be the one to try on a 7 string
considering its length (141 mm).

Could any of you suggest the correct model pickup on a 7 string bass,
preferrably from Bartolini? And yes, a good wood combination (personal thoughts
are welcome :) ). I was thinking of an Alder Body (with Quilt Maple top) and an
Ebony on Maple fingerboard.

Many thanks,

Aalaap.

I think that size of pickup is more than enough. If you have six string bass with standard string spacing  at the bridge (19 mm or 0.75") the distance...
