Re: Multieffects unit - help needed!

Thanks a lot for your replies so far!

My justification for a need of a Multiefffects unit:

I am a session artist.. I play for South Indian movies, jingles and also
do quite a lot of gigging.. I am also working on a private album. There is a lot
of room to experiment with sounds.

My dream is to own a pro-end pedal board, however I am saving it for the future
coz of bucks!! Some music directors whom I play for often ask for effects like
Chorus, Flanger etc.. Further, the cab and amp units, compressors etc in the
units that I mentioned, I heard/read, are decent enough to get you somewhere
close to a pro-end sound.. I also play steel/nylon acoustic guitars.. I was
fancying X3 Live in this case since it provides good operations on Guitars, Bass
and Vocals.

An multieffects unit would be a good choice for saving presets (guitar and
bass)..

As far as the effects goes, to me, I would like to experiment with sounds that I
can get out of my bass.

I use a Yamaha TRB 1005 (quilt maple on alder).. I run it through my Zoom B2 and
a DI out from my Tech 21 Sans Amp programmable unit, be it live or recordings.

X3 live and gt10b units costs 500USD. Bass podxt live costs 300USD.

For my taste, the pedals that I would consider in the future would be

1) Chorus/ Flanger/ Phaser units
2) Compressor/Limiter units
3) An EQ unit
4) Tuner
5) A looper (may be a BOSS RC-2)
6) An overdrive unit

Have u guys at any pt tried a GT series or the pod series for Bass? Do u really
think its a waste of money to invest on such products until I build my dream
pedal board?

Also, am sure most of u also play the guitar (if not to the level of bass
playing!).. wat effects unit do u use?

Thanks again!

Hello everyone!

Hope you all are musically great!

I am on a look out to buy a multi effects unit. Currently I use a Zoom B2 and
Tech 21 SanAmp (DI).

I was looking at 3 options to replace my Zoom (I wanna hold on to my Sanamp
unit):

1) Boss GT10B
2) Bass Pod XT Live
3) Pod X3 Live (provides effects for guitar, bass and vocals.. sort of multi
tasker, I could use this for my singing and rhythm guitaring too)

I surely believe in a good pedal board with the best components but my financial
position is not too healthy to afford a world class unit. I've been reading a
lot of reviews on the above multieffects units.

However, I felt this is the best forum to get hands on reviews from!

Could you please give in your valuable suggestions to get the best multi effects
unit? Wat effects unit(s) do u use?

Many thanks,

Aalaap
