Hi
It sounds like you are there apart from opening up the Amp Env. By this I mean,
you have to actually start the sequencer in, say, pattern mode, with notes that
will then open up the Amp Env and allow you to hear the input. Probably best to
add a note to all 16 steps, put the amp into Env mode (as oppose to Gate) and
then Env Decay on max.
I actually hate synths that require you to trigger a note before hearing the
inputed audio. Most synths seem to do this and you can nearly always hear the
fact that the Amp Env is opening/shutting. For example, if you setup as I just
described and then input a straight sustained String sound, you will hear all 16
steps in the String sound to some degree. All you want is to hear the string
sound filtered with, say, the 777 and NOT the triggering notes opening/closing
envelopes.
Perhaps I am doing something wrong but I can not use the 777s audio input
without hearing some effect from the 16 steps... Any hints?

Subject: [FR] how do i use my 777 to filter external audio?
i plug a line-level signal into the "filter in" jack...make sure the
sub a/ext level is up, make sure the filter gain is up, make sure the
volume's up...and...i get nothing.
what am i missing?
manual doesn't say much more...
do i have to create a blank song and put it in play or something? or
is there some other switch i need to use?
thanks in advance for any tips!!!
