Due to a recent job loss I have to sell my FR777 with updated rom.
Asking $650 + shipping. E-mail me privately at jimh54@... if
interested.
Thanks,
Jim
"I'm holding off on replacing my stolen 777 since I sincerely believe the
revolution will sound as good or better than the 777, and cost less to
boot."
Really sorry to hear your 777 got stollen. That is quite a big value item
to have nicked..
I agree the Revolution is going to sound closer to a 303 then the 777 but
the Revolution is a very simple single oscillator synth (like the 303). As
you know, the 777 is quite a serious 4 oscillator/2 Filter mono synth.
Okay, its conventional modulation abilities are limited but there again it
does have its own unique modulation abilities. I guess the Revolution is
going to sound like a 303 whilst the '303 sound' is only a very small subset
of what a 777 can do.
"the revolution appears more "groove approved" but I expect it contains core
noise generation circuitry either identical to or improved from the 777."
Yes, the sequever looks like it is going to be a massive improvement over
the 777s which will make me eternally jellous :-) Yes, the Revolution could
have similar/improved circuitry to the 777 but the Revolution is only a
single osc/filter synth with limited modulation. In terms of synthesis, the
777 offers way more then the 303 whilst the Revolution is clearly trying to
be a very good 303.
I guess what I am trying to say is that the Revolution does not look like it
has been designed to encroach on the 777 but rather encroach on the 303.
Anyone know when some audio clips are going to be released?
I wish to sell my FR-777, as I need some money to buy myself a
serious hardware multitracker.
I mostly use it for 303ish sounds and not for its modulation
capabilities... which makes it redundant with my 303.
I live in Rennes, in France.
I contacted Jered about the "snappy filter envelope" mod, so as to
locate which resistor was to be shorted... he helped me and told me
this unit is a later model (I didn't dare modifying it though). The
analog board is revision E. Serial number is FR3D71499641.
I bought it used on ebay and it is in a perfect condition, except a
couple of minor scratches at the bottom.
Please let me know if you are interested...
Regards, Eric.
please email me at "ultrashricco at free dot fr".
I am selling my 777 to make room for some very unique new gear. It is a great
synth, and I'm sure I will be filling the empty place it will leave with another
FR synth at some point in time, but for now I have to move on.
I am the first and only owner. The unit is in absolutely perfect shape, and has
never had a problem. I will include the original manual, two FR power supplies
(I thought I lost my original after a move, ordered a new one, and found mine a
day later), and the latest OS which I never got around to installing, with
installation instructions.

I've already reduced the price twice and have settled at $1300. I won't hold it
for anyone, because I already got screwed twice by flakey buyers on this. First
person to pay gets it.

that's a retardedly wonderful price for a mint 777. I mean, they go for
twice that normally....
somebody needs to buy this before I do...

I really can't say I've seen one go for anywhere near twice that...
though I do know some were selling for around $1800 as recently as a
few months ago.

Well, the market has changed, but I've sold no less than two mint 7's for
$2400 and $2600, respectively.
And I've had offers for mine from Japan for $4200 and it's still NFS as far
as I'm concerned. (the Silver SN#666 unit)
The two I sold were perfectly mint, unused, though. And the one other one I
sold, i sold for $1900, and it was a 8/10 at best.
Times have changed for sure...so best bet might be to put it in a box and
try to hold onto it for a few years until things turn around again. I'm
selling an unused, mint, NIB Little Phatty for $895 right now and having a
hard time moving it even at that price. And it's a stage II with
midi/arps/etc., too! I feel for ya man... I'd try to hold on to that 777 if
you can at all afford to...

I'm really not worried about it. I don't need the money, so no need
to feel bad for me ;)
I've got a Buchla 200e on the way, and am building a modcan and
eurorack system on the side. I also have way too much gear and am
trying to slim down and get rid of the stuff I don't use anymore. I
figure my 777 would be of more use to someone else. I'm not looking
to make a huge profit on it.
