Here are some handbill/flyer thingys for the San Francisco Hardly Strictly show in case anyone out there is interested in posting them in a window or on a pole (do people still do stuff like that?):
The art on the handbill was created by Tomas, was lifted from a Thinking of You tour poster he created, and is used with his permission.

To mark Hardly Strictly, there are some new songs to stream on the music player at fw.net. There's a 1998 live recording from San Francisco of "One Big Union" which is, in part, about their scrape with Steve Earle. Also, so visitors can see the Carter Family connection, "Broken Hearted Lover" from the 1993 Amoeba tribute record is up.

I've been enjoying the Drunken Prayer CD Morgan posted about. This fellow, along with Audra Fleming, Dave Gay, and Lance Wille, played with Catherine on Cut Yourself a Switch. Since then, Morgan and Audra have relocated to Portland, Oregon and formed their new band. Morgan can write songs like their straight outta history - I had always assumed "I'm Gonna Lay Down In Front Of My Lord" was some old standard, but he in fact wrote it. The sound of the record is polished, but the lyrics and singing are still raw - a nice balance. Evelyn Weston, who played saw on Thinking of You, appears here also. You can buy the record at CDBaby.

In other Fw news, Eleventh Dream Day are playing in Athens, Greece (!) on Thursday, October 19th. The hell? There must be a good story around that booking.
Thanks,
