In 2007, I’d like to create a new page at freakwater.net which is a virtual-gallery-or -coffeeshop thing where recording and visual artists who appreciate Freakwater could show examples of their work and link them back to their own websites to draw traffic.  The ultimate goal, if there was enough interest, would be to put out a Freakwater tribute record using some of the contributed work sometime this year. 

 

So, if you are a recording artist who digs Freakwater, there will be a place at the website to have people listen to your stuff.  It would be nice if you could contribute a cover of a Freakwater song, but I don’t want to limit it to that.  If you are a visual artist who is a Freakwater fan, there will be a place at the website to display your work.  It would be nice if the visual were of Freakwater or some imagery related to a Freakwater lyric, but the “gallery” won’t be limited to just that.  Maybe if enough good cover songs were contributed so a tribute record could be assembled, some contributed art could be used for the sleeve.  

 

There’d be no screening as to what was displayed in this virtual gallery beyond being able to prove consciousness of who Freakwater is.  That’d be the only requirement.
