Re: [FreshAire5] Re: Commonalities in Steamroller music

Nice to know I'm not the only one who over analyses
Steamroller's music!
As for the endings of songs, I've noticed Chip
sometimes has a tendency not to resolve chords at all,
kind of leaving the listener hanging at the end of a
song. I guess he thinks it accomplishes something,
but I often wish he'd put the final chord in there
(sorry, I can't think of a specific example right
now.)

One other melody which occurs in more than one song--
"Come Home To The Sea," pops up in "Eagles" from
"Saving The Wildlife."

Kind of a silly topic, maybe, but it's a change from rating songs. I was wondering what commonalities you've noticed across several Steamroller songs. For...

Yes, I've noticed the "musical signature" from FRESH AIRE II used a bit, you might also notice the use of extended final cadences at the ends of pieces using a...

Yeah, lots of commonalities. One of my favorites was Chip's use of the FA II theme in his arrangement of Classical Gas that he did for Mason Williams. It's...
