I haven't watched that for a while. I love the bit with Andrew

before its searchable on that site, although I will have to hunt down
permission from people who owned some of the footage- i've put up the
stuff I have no idea who made it. (hopefully it won't get me into any

I thought that they sounded great too, but we had to leave at midnight
before our babysitter turned into a pumpkin, so unfortunately I only heard
the first 7 songs or so...

As you know the Furs played Wellington last night at the Matterhorn.
Odd venue with tables everywhere. I was peering around a concrete
wall and managed to see my co-worker's shoulder and a rather tall
chap's back.

Fur Patrol played a LOT of new songs which all sounded absolutely
stunning and I don't think Julia has ever sounded better. During an
Andrew pee-break she played Freak Show by herself which is fucking
mind blowing, especially when she starts howling "Are you
loooooooooooonely?" Oh god. So good. The older songs sounded quite
different without the Steve parts but they pulled them together in the
strange environment incredibly well and sounded like they could have
been that way since they wrote them. In some cases the old songs
sounded like brand new ones (like Get Along) and as a 3-piece they
sounded like they'd always been that way. Don't get me wrong, I miss
Steve in the band, but the band has coped well with the departure and
if you didn't know there was once a guitarist you wouldn't believe
there was a hole.

Argh, so tired... Been listening to collider this morning.... I think
I woke the neighbours children cause now they are all hyped up and
running round their back yard.

The gig I helped put on last night was awesome... The Grey Datura's
are the nicest guys/girl I have met in a while. Plus the all ages show
was insane! We had queues outside Creation at 6pm on the dot... and
the band sold a heap of cds.... and the R18 show.... well that was all
the usual suspects. *loves creation*

ahh I love it when a gig goes well.

Hi Craig

Marty was a friend of ours from Wellington. He sung in a band in
Wellington last century called Flamejob and the music scene there
has always been very close knit so everyone knows everyone else. He
was an incredibly talented artist and you'd be surprised how many
illustrations you would have seen around which can be credited to
him. He moved to Auckland and hooked up with the Illicit clothing
label to to illustrations and art for them and we have a close
relationship with Illicit primarily through him and Simon Morse who
is also from Wellington. Marty moved to Los Angeles a few years ago
to promote his illustrations and some characters he'd developed and
his future looked pretty bright. We always wanted him to do some
artwork for us but always thought we had plenty of time to get him
to do something.

The last we hung out with him was a few months before his death when
we were in Los Angeles shooting our 'Precious' video clip. He showed
us around LA (and I mean ALL around, if you get my gist). We are
lucky and feel deeply privileged to have been able to spend quality
time with him before he left us. He was a good dude, the kind you
really want to have as a friend and we miss him a lot.

We're hoping to get recording the new album early next year. Not
sure how long till it may be out but we'll keep you posted. The new
songs are sounding cool and we really want it to come out as soon as
possible but these things take a bit of time. Especially for us for
some reason

Andrew

Hey you should play that vinyl it's got an extra track that the cd
doesn't have. The track listing on the Vinyl cover is the same as the
cd but doesn't match the actual tracks on the record. If you get my
gist. It's one of those fascinating little things that never ended up
fascinating anyone.

I don't think I can handle the 8 hour drive from Aucks, though.....anyone

any plans for an Auckland gig?
