WELKCOME everyone to the Yahoo! group dedicated to the lovely and talented Gail Farrell, singer, songwriter and pianist from television's The Lawrence Welk Show.

Raised in Durant, Oklahoma; the former Miss Oklahoma paegant contestant and graduate of the University of Tulsa joined the Welk music makers in 1969 as a result of a tag dance with the maestro, where he and his orchestra were performing at the famous Hollywood Palladium. On the 1969-70 season opened, she sang her first number, "Downtown" which the audiences liked a lot.

Until the show ended in 1982, Gail sang her share of solos, choral and group numbers and was a part of many acts; as a duo with Mary Lou Metzger, with Dick Dale as "Gail & Dale", the trio of Gail, Sandi (Griffiths) & Mary Lou and later the mixed trio of Gail, Ron and Michael featuring her husband Ron Anderson and friend Michael Redman. She continues to perform to this day, and has a list of credits in both recording, television and the silver screen...but her proudest legacy is her twin daughters, Erin and Lauren (born in 1982).
