I have written my eight page manifesto as an
Independent Socialist candidate (calling for a
Democratic Socialist Alliance with a Revolutionary
Platform to unite the left in England) for the UK
general election on the 5th of May, complete with
pictures. Four of the eight pages are in full colour;
the remainder are black on white.

I have arranged for 50,000 copies to be printed
(45,000 for delivery by postal workers), but that will
be delayed until the manifesto is vetted (which should
happen by tomorrow - it is only supposed to be for
things like obscene comments/pictures or inclusion of
adverts, rather than political content).

In the meantime, I have produced 300 copies of the
full manifesto, plus a few thousand of the front page
(suggesting people read the full manifesto on the web)
and will be going up to Glasgow tomorrow for two days
to help the Scottish Socialist Party's general
election campaign. 1,500 copies of the front page of
my manifesto have an initial leaflet for the
Revolutionary Platform of the SSP. I have postponed
the idea of holding a launch meeting for that platform
until after the election when hopefully I will be an
MP.

• Bring back free education – scrap student fees and
reintroduce the grant
• Tax the rich and close all tax loopholes
