No doubt all members of this group have long since discontinued any email
updates due to the endless spamming (I sure have), but in case someone's still
out there....

Obi Wan Kenobi?.....

A few months ago a friend sent me a mix CD with the Andrew Bird song "Not a
Robot, But a Ghost," but didn't give me any information about the artist or the
name of the song-- the minute I heard it I swore it was a rare Tommy Jordan song
that she'd dug up to surprise me. It took a few weeks after that for someone to
post the lyrics online, at which point I discovered it was actually Andrew Bird.
That's the only one of his I've heard that sounds like Tommy's voice, but it's
uncanny -- both the timbre and the singing style. A few weeks ago my bro was in
the car when I had the song playing and instantly said, "Geggy Tah, right?"

So just now, lazing about, I thought to see if anyone else had noticed the
similarity in their voices (I typed "Andrew Bird" + "Geggy" into Google) and
sure enough, someone out there thinks that Andrew Bird sounds like a cross
between Geggy Tah and Radiohead. But what also popped up was an article about
how Tommy's suing the rap group Clipse for plagiarizing "Whoever You Are."
Check it out -- I'd say he's got a very good case.
