Hello all...
New to the group! I have been working on a project for a number of
years. I had the thought that very few people had the chance to see
the Beatles in their pre-fame years and there are certainly few
recordings from that time. The next best thing would be to collect
the original artists versions of various songs that were a part of
their live repetoire at that time. So, I managed to hunt down the
easy ones by Gene Vincent, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Buddy Holly,
The Everly Brothers, etc... Using Mark Lewisohn's book, the Beatles
had 250-275 songs in their live acts at various points from 1957 to
1963, and I have managed to whittle it down to about 60 songs.
I was wondering if someone here might be able to burn a few Gene
Vincent songs for me to CD for which I would be happy to pay or
trade. I am looking for:
Ain't She Sweet
Can't Believe You Wanna Leave
Dance In The Street
Time Will Bring You Everything
Wedding Bells
Also, I am looking for songs from the Jodimars, Ritchie Barrett,
Lonnie Donegan, the Vipers and Chas McDevitt.
I'd be happy to share my collection and make some trades! Looking
forward to sharing here...
-Pete
