The LGBT Community is coming together to do our
part to help with Hurricane Katrina Relief
Efforts. Tim Gill and the Gay and Lesbian Fund
for Colorado have announced a one million
dollar matching grant to the Red Cross. The
Rainbow World fund is partnering with America's
Second Harvest to raiseneeded funds. NYAC
has launched a relief fund to make sure the
most vulnerable members of our community get

The story of Flight 93 and the passengers
who fought back on September 1th, including
our own Mark Bingham, will air September 11th
on the Discovery Channel without commercial
interruption. (I watched a preview copy of
this yesterday and was very moved. I encourage
everyone to watch it)

The National Stonewall Democrats (NSD) praised
the work of Democrats in the California Senate
for passing Assembly Bill 849, the Religious
Freedom and Civil Marriage Protection Act.
The California Senate passed the bill by a
21 to 15 vote, almost exclusively along party
lines.
