Hi! Thank you both for the welcome. It was great discovering this
band, especially at a time when, no offense if anyone enjoys much of
it; it's just my opinion, music today and more and more celebrities
today are just....pitiful. It's pretty difficult to find any type of
role model in Hollywood today. I have done plenty of research on them,
although I do find that many of the sites I have been on conflict in
information. But that's okay because it's usually just minor details.
The first time I heard their music I was pleasantly surprised just how
good it was. I figured it would be, but I didn't expect it to be as
great as it is. I enjoy pretty much every song off of the Very Best CD
and I just ordered Infinity Within so I can't wait to hear the 10
songs off of it that I haven't heard yet. ;) "Pussycat Meow" has to be
one of the funniest songs I have ever heard. I mean, don't get me
wrong, I love "Groove is in the Heart", but I personally don't find
that to be their best song.
I have even tried to promote them to fellow friends of mine, but
unfortunately, no one has been interested so far. I have gotten my
sister, who's 28 and like many others only knows "Groove is in the
Heart", to listen to some of their music and she hasn't had anything
bad to say about them (she did say that "Picnic in the Summertime" was
pretty cool), but so far I haven't been able to make a fan out of her.
I'm working on it, though!
Ah! Here is the video link and again, as a warning, you have to be 18
years old to watch it and have a Youtube account and there is a brief
nudity scene. It's kind of bizarre, but it's pretty cool as well:

Quick question that I haven't been given an answer to yet- did Lady
Miss Kier ever take voice lessons before? She just has the most
amazing voice (I get the chills whenever I listen to "Love Is
Everything") and if she never had lessons....wow. Just incredible.
Also....well, this is going to sound really strange and I am still
very hesitant to bring this up for fear of any backlash, but earlier
today I received a pretty nasty email from someone and I'm not sure if
what he stated about Miss Kier is true and while I researched it
through google and yahoo, I found nothing to prove what he said as
true. I admit I am scared to bring it up for fear of backlash, so I
was just wondering what type of appropriate questions are allowed to
be asked? It has nothing to do with sexual orientation or attitude or
drug use or anything and I don't want to know to be nosy or
disrespectful, but if this person is making up lies and bashing her, I
would like to let him know he is wrong because she doesn't deserve it.
Thanks again!
Love, Nikki
Send the link for the video. I'm curious to see it.
I was in High School and college when the group was popular. i agree with a lot of the things you say. I think Lady Kier is so beautiful. I love their music and sound and message in their music. It's a shame they werent successful for the long term. But thanks to the internet you can do some research and catch up on their music. they are one of my favorite bands that I adore.

----- Original Message ---- From: Nikki <pickums1283@...> To: globaldeeelitefans@yahoogroups.com Sent: Friday, April 18, 2008 1:57:48 PM Subject: [globaldeeelitefans] Hello!
It's a pleasure to be a member of this group! I've been lurking for the past few months and decided maybe it's time to introduce myself. I'm Nikki, I'm 24 years old, and am from South Jersey (hometown of Philly). I have been a Deee-Lite fan since last summer and how I came to know of them is a bit of an unusual story. I always knew the song "Groove is in the Heart" growing up and it was always one of those songs that I never was particurlarly a big fan of, but still enjoyed listening to whenever I heard it. Never really knew who sang it or anything.
But then one day last year in April, I was watching a show called Survival of the Fastest (I had a brief interest in auto racing) and one of the crew chiefs mentioned Deee-Lite and then started to sing (rather horribly) "Groove is in the Heart". And then I saw it again in July and I decided to download the song and there was just something after the first few
times of listening to it, that made me want to know more about this band. SO I decided to do some research on them and was surprised to find out what they were like- very much into politics and environmental issues and that was it- I fell in love with the band. And the first time I ever saw a picture of Lady Miss Kier, I was speechless because I had never seen someone so beautiful in my life. And as more time went on I learned more about the band and liked them more and more. A few weeks after I decided to research them, I found the Vh-1 One Hit Wonders countdown on and spent the entire night waiting for them to come on (they deserved higher than number 14!) and decided right then and there that I need to get to know more of their music. I can't even tell you how long and how many stores I went to (I'm not big on ordering off of the internet) to obtain a copy of "the Very Best of" and then finally find it in, of
all places, a Borders bookstore.
And although it happened years ago, when I read that Lady Miss Kier and Dmitry had dated and then broke up, I got filled up. They were such a sweet couple. I feel bad that it didn't work out for them.
Getting to know Deee-Lite has honestly had a big impact on my life. It makes me sad that I wasn't old enough to know who they were when they were popular. But I guess it's better late than never, right?
Again, thanks for accepting me into this group.
Love, Nikki
PS: Has anyone ever seen the student film that Lady Miss Kier was in? I think it was filmed in 1988 and Dmitry and she wrote the music for it. I have the link for it through Youtube but I wasn't sure what the rules were about posting links, plus it's only viewable if you are over 18 and have a Youtube account (it has a brief nudity scene).

I have the 2 japanese remix CDs from the World Clique era. They are an excellent collection of remixes (basically almost all the remixes on 2 CDs). I highly recommend them.
I do not have them. Have all the USA singles .... well most, but with
the extra tracks , am I REALLY missing anything on em? I ask mainly
because I want to know if any of the tracks are worth remixing to a
new 2008 video ....or at the least remixing again. If anyone can give
me an answer I would appreciate it. I have all the videos on dvd ect
,,,,, I just have never seen the Japanese only remixes cheap =)anyone
wanna chat ect ... lookin4you2xist on aol

Does anyone have the video of the live Montreux Jazz Festival
performance Deee-Lite did on 10/07/91 with Bootsy/Hampton & the PFAS. I
have been trying to locate a copy but been totally unsuccessful up to
this point. Would be interested in the audio CD as well if anyone has
that.
I have some live performances and other videos and would be willing to
do a trade. I'm also willing pay extremely well for a nice copy. Either
way, Ill make it worth your while. Whatever rocks your boat.
THANX
Berti

I wish she could be here in Tampa, Florida!!
She is my forever love!
Lady Miss Kier is bringing it to you all the way live with a full band!
She'll be at the Rikshaw Room in San Francisco on April 4th
performing all new material as well as Deee-Lite classics.
She follows with a dj set- this looks to be quite exciting!
I see Vageena has popped up again on Myspace. I saw her link on Lady
K's page. Can someone tell me what the deal is with this chick? Is she
a DJ, a singer? And is she even real? I think it's Kier in a mask.
Patrick McMullan's new book "Glamour Girls"
features all kinds of women in various stages of glamour, from Mary J. Blige and
Madonna, to
supermodels and society women, and it features a full page pic of Lady Miss Kier
at Don't
Bungle The Jungle II on page 90. I will add the pic I took of the page to the
album.
Silly me !!!! I must have the messages option set wrong .... Stupid

Hello everybody!
I rarely post although I have been a member for a few years.
Can anyone sell me a copy of the Deee-Lite video compuilation that was
in circulation on eBay a while back. It contained the music videos as
well as some television aoppearances.
I am also looking for the video of the 1991 Montreux Jazz Festival
concert gig. I video of that has been in circulation as well.
I am basically interested in obtaining whatever material is available
in terms of visually.
I am willing to pay very well for a nice copy/copies.
Sincerely
Bret
