The band has passed through severe line up changes the following months, loosing
both their drummer and their bassist...
But the previous bassist is now back in the band, and a new drummer is in the
try.
The band still anticipates the recording of a demo in some months.

....thats it. godflesh disbanded. for all those who havent read it
yet.....

>>On April 10th 2002, I disbanded Godflesh. This was something I had
painfully been pondering since GC Greens' departure from the band in
Oct 2001. Regrettably it took until the day of leaving for a lengthy
US tour for the realization to finally take its toll on me.

Unfortunately the finality of the decision and the responsibilities
of making the decision proved too much for me to bare, and I
collapsed under the weight. I found that without GC Green, Godflesh
is not Godflesh, and him leaving proved to be an omen for me. I also
feel that everything we originally intended or even imagined with
Godflesh we have done. My only regret has been the hurting of both
remaining band members Ted Parsons and Paul Raven, and disappointing
those that believe in Godflesh worldwide... In the near future, my
new rock project Jesu will surface. So this is by no means the end of
my songwriting/guitar/vocalizing. Simply the end of a chapter.

Endless gratitude to all those that have believed in and supported
Godflesh throughout the 14 year history. You know who you are... Long
live the new flesh...

it sucks that GC Green left the band? Of course now
that they're finally going to play the US, we won't
get to see the true Godflesh experience. Raven
(Green's replacement) may be good (at least he seemed
decent in Prong), but GF just isn't the same without
Benny.<br><br>Speaking of which, does anyone have his side project,

....is so damn fucking dead: a new godflesh album has been released weeks ago
and theres no one mentioning it nor even talking about it. shame on you who you
are dying of boredom

It was with great distress that we heard about
the death of Carl Crack. Carl<br>had been a member of
Atari Teenage Riot since its inception and
contributed<br>as MC and frontperson with a style uniquely
appropriate to the band.<br><br>It is generally known that
Carl had received treatment for
psychiatric<br>problems in the past but friends had not reported anything
recently that<br>would give rise to particular
concern.<br><br>ATR were taking a year out after exhaustively
promoting their last release<br>and Carl had been working
on solo material to follow up his Black
Ark<br>release as well as performing with a variety of other
artists.<br><br>Carl died on September 6th but the public announcement
was delayed while his<br>family were informed. He was
30 years old.<br><br>Alec Empire said;<br><br>"I
played in a band with Carl for ten years. We've been
through a lot<br>together in all those times. He was my
friend. We didn't have much contact<br>with each other
since the last bout of heavy touring with ATR ended in
March<br>2000. There was too much between all the members of the
band and we all<br>needed space to recover. Carl and I
decided to write each other because it<br>was nearly
impossible to talk.<br><br>He wrote to me that things were
going better for him, he was playing music<br>in
different projects. And that he wanted to start a long-term
therapy. He<br>had suffered since a teenager from
psychotic attacks, which I watched<br>getting worse each
year. I hoped that he would be able to work things
out.<br>His letters sounded positive and optimistic. His
sudden death has hit me<br>very hard and it is not easy
for me to find the right words.<br><br>A lot of
little events and situations keep coming into my mind.
When I think<br>of Carl I don't think only of the
great stage presence and charisma he had,<br>especially
on the tours for our album "The Future Of War," I
also remember<br>him dancing to soul music at parties,
laughing and singing Curtis Mayfield<br>songs. He brought
a tension into the band that is very rare and
special<br>these days. I am very proud of him, and of what he has
achieved as an<br>artist. People like us can't even
imagine how hard it must have been for him<br>to deal
with those attacks, to record and perform, and on top
of that to<br>take care of his personal life and
relationships.<br><br>He was not only a vocalist with a very unique style,
he also recorded one of<br>the deepest instrumental
albums I know: "The Black Ark E.P." It was
his<br>decision. I just wish we had talked in person one more
time, even though we<br>cleared things in the letters.
I will miss him. Carl, we'll never forget<br>you.."

This may seem strange, but does anyone else think
that Justin Broadrick bears a small resemblance to
Timothy McVeigh? The terrrorist attack last Tuesday
reminded me of the Oklahoma City bombing, which reminded
me of when I first saw Timothy McVeigh on tv, and
thinking, " he kind of looks like Justin Broadrick."

I looked at Godflesh.com but their lyrics section
didn't have them. A friend of mine printed a lot of
Godflesh lyrics out for me, but I don't know if they have
those two songs, because I can't find the lyrics right
now. I don't want to sound like a name dropper, but my
friend said that one of the members of Ministry gave him
the name of the website for the lyrics (this was back
in 1995). I thought it was cool how Godflesh has
fans even in the industry. I think that the two bands
once toured together, which would have been cool, but
I wish that I could have seen Godflesh's tour with
Skinny Puppy. Anywa, if I find the lyrics soon I'll post
them (if I have them).

I looked at CDnow for the two albums, and noticed
that they are only available as imports, and cost
about double the price of regular cds. I'll buy one in
a week or two, but I hope that DHR has plans to
release more of their catalog domestically. I would order
some of the stuff from their European office, but
unfortunately I don't have a credit card. I have a bunch of
MP3's of the Curse of the Golden Vampire album, but not
the original cd itself, which I would buy if I could
find it in the states even if I had to pay an import
price.

Yeah, I'm totally self taught. ^_^ <br><br>Um,
which version of The DESTROYER do you have?? The 1996
U.K. version (DHR CD/LP 4), or the 1998 U.S. version
(DHR CD/LP 16)??? The U.K version is better overall.
But both are cool as hell. Alec has done like 15 or
20 albums in his time. ....and every one of them is
great.<br><br>As far as ATARI TEENAGE RIOT is concerned. Get
"Delete Yourself!" first, then get "The Future Of War".
That the the perfect way to be introduced to ATR.
Don't get "60 Second Wipe Out" or the "Rage E.P." until
you buy the first 2 I typed!!! <br><br>Over the last
10 years ATR has released alot. But....just get the
ones I reccomended, you will be very very glad you
bought them.<br><br>Then you might wanna get into more

I've heard of an MPC-2000, Scott Herren from
Prefuse 73 was given one of those4 by some studio owner (
I read about it in URB). I don't really know much
about gear though. I want to eventually, but I'm trying
to just get a start. I started taking piano lessons
about a month ago, so that i could play keyboards well,
learn to read music, and get an idea about song
structures. How did you start making music? I know of people
who are self taught, but I was going no where with
trying to teach myself. I could only play juvenile
noise. I've never seen Kid 606 live, but I don't live in
California, I'm sure its easy to see a lot of bands play live
in that state. Only rock bands get shows around
here. However I did see OHGR play live here which was
awesome. I can't say that I'm a big DHR fan though, since
I haven't heard much. I have heard Alec Empire's
solso cd "The Destroyer" album, which I liked. I really
think that "Fire Bombing" is the best song on that
album. Do you have any suggestions as far as Atari
Teenage Riot cds to buy? I'm thinking of buying one to
check out.

Well I used to do internet promotions for DHR a
while ago. And so Alec and myself email every once in a
while... He called me a few weeks ago at my house as well.

strictly a gear-head. <br>Gear is better for live shows.
Seeing Kid 606 live is like watching someone send email.
It's really dull & boring. <br><br>But with gear you
can fuck the shit up. <br>I even have the hand-grip
and shoulder strap for my synth so I can walk around
with it while I'm playing. <br><br>Wicked!
