Grace and peace to you all,

I'm new here and would like to thank God for blessing me by sharing His love with a group of people of common talents and gifts.  I need support and guidance in birthing this song baby.  I am at the beginning stages of songwriting and desire mentorship on how to get to each stage until it is sung and have done what God has sent it to do. They are copywritten and I am a member of ASCAP.  I have also joined esession.com and waiting to be able to put my music for all to hear the healing and deliverance power of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.  I am so excited but not anxious.  Let God's will be done with us here at gospelsongwriters@yahoogroups.com.

BE BLESSED AND BE A BLESSING

Subject: What's the best gift you can give this year?:)

Hi, Ladies!

As we approach the holiday season, we ready ourselves for gift giving - and receiving!  But what's the most important gift we can give this year?  I would have to say that would be the gift of "Love" - but not the world's kind of love, God's "agape" love, topped with a good portion of God's yummy Word.

We give to others because HE first loved us, but sometimes we forget the real reason for the giving.  One of my biggest flaws I've fought for years has been the fear of what people think of me.

There are two reasons for such a fear, Biblically.  One is because I haven't yet "died" to self to live to Christ.  I'm still hanging on to wants that aren't of Him.  The other is pride.  I don't want to allow Christ to be enough for others.   The great ***I*** wants to give more and BE more than I am.  It is not content with Christa where she is now, but wants to be bigger and better and stronger - so everyone can see how wonderful I am and how much **I** can give them.  Blech.   That's why 1 Cor. 13 says, "Without LOVE (agape - GOD'S love) it's all nothing."  So is my giving in AGAPE? :) If I'm in Him, then others need to be satisfied with who GOD has made me to be - even if I'm not quite "finished" yet! LOL  We'll all be growing til Jesus comes!   On the Day I see Him face to face (sigh - won't it be WONderful!?) - THEN I'll be done!

I want people to like me, which is normal and fine, but when I move into the fear realm, my eyes are no longer on Jesus; He no longer is my "All in All."  I am no longer content to rest in His presence.  The KJV version of Psalm 23 is to me the most fitting:  "The Lord is my Shepherd.  I SHALL NOT WANT."  I don't think the other translations quite give the picture.  Paul says, "But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that."  (1 Tim.6:8)  !!! -Jeepers, Paul, you didn't even say "housing" in there!  How in the world do you "be content" with "just" food and clothes?? :-/

In the Old Testament the levites and priests were set apart for God.  Where all the other tribes had alloted land for their inheritance, the levites and priests did not.  Why?  Because "the Lord was their inheritance."  The LORD said to Aaron, "You will have no inheritance in their land, nor will you have any share among them; I am your share and your inheritance among the Israelites. (Numbers 18:20)  (It also says that the tithe brought in from the other 11 tribes was also their inheritance.  So they had an income through the tithe.)  But let's look at this:  "I am your share and your inheritance."

If you've ever gotten a glimpse of the Lord God and His glory and love, nothing else will satisfy.   Like the man in Christ's parable who found a treasure hidden in a field and sold EVERYTHING he had to buy the field, so it is with us.  He is worth ALL we are, ALL we have - ALL we desire in this earth - the things that so easily perish - are NOTHING in comparison with KNOWING CHRIST.

What are you giving this year? O:)  I would challenge you (and myself!) to give eternal things in with the temporal presents we are giving.  Maybe take the time to write a scripture on each card you are mailing this year and send it with a prayer for your loved ones protection.  Maybe tell the Christmas story with your kids on cassette tape and mail it to your family.

God's Word is eternal. "The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever."  Isaiah 40:8

Love (agape) is eternal.

Friends and family in Christ will last forever....

Thought:  Write a personal love letter to those you know that DON'T know Christ.  Yeah, they could think we're nuts (most of my friends growing up thought I was a bit strange....;)) - you might even lose some friends, but in heaven on the Judgement Day, at least they won't ask, "WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME????" :( ... Yeah, I REALLY believe this stuff, the "good" and the "bad."  Just like I REALLY believe "1+1=2."

No matter what anyone thinks, that is truth - and if they say otherwise, they're lying (maybe to themselves as well, but it's a lie.)  I've had some pretty crazy conversations with people who think they can change God's Word and laws and believe there are no absolutes, but I've yet to see one of them hire a contractor to build them a house on 1+1=3.

So let's GIVE this Christmas as GOD desires each of us to give!  Cheerfully, lovingly, without worrying about what people are going to think if we don't get "just" the right gift!

Above all, let's give our children God's Word and Love and teach them that the Bible says not to love the world, because if we do, God's Love is not in us.

"Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him."  1 John 2:15

Let's not allow us or them to get caught up in the stream of greed and materialism that pervades (sadly) most "civilized" nations.  Let's love one another and know that even if we don't get a single thing this Christmas, we are SO very blessed - because we have been given the greatest Gift of all! - Christ Jesus, the Lamb of God slain for the sins of the world!  Glory to His Name forever!

Oh, and don't forget to ask Jesus what HE wants for Christmas from you this year....:)

Be blessed, be safe in Him, in His Love, Christa

"Now these three remain: faith, hope and love.  And the greatest is Love." 1 Cor. 13:13

Hi, everyone!

Little by little it's getting there - I am learning to take "baby"
steps and grow from there!

I need some help, if you have five - eight minutes. I need people to
go to the site where I've posted "Life!" and post a review or
comments for me. Go to www.pizzansodashowcase.com/christa for the
song sample.

You DON'T have to purchase the download - I'll email that to you for
your personal use in exchange for helping me figure some things out.

In the E-MAIL to me please answer the following:
1. Were you able to understand how to play the sample of the song?
2. Were you able to "purchase" the song? (Go through the motions, but
don't actually click on the final "buy.")
3. Did you like the sample you heard?
4. Do you need to hear more of the song or the whole song in order to
purchase or is the sample enough?

Answer those questions via e-mail to me and I'll send you the MP3
of "Life!" for your PERSONAL use. (Please don't copy it. If you
want it for friends, send them to the site to purchase it. My
reasoning is if people can afford a PC or iPod, they can afford the
song.)

After you hear the whole song, please go back to
www.pizzansodashowcase.com/christa and please COMMENT or REVIEW it
for me! Thanks SO much!

In His Love, Christa

Greetings to you all in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

My name is Christa and I'm a full-time mom of two and wife of one;).
My passion is Christ and His Word and about seven years ago the Lord
started giving me music to share with the body. I'm not quite sure
how to share it all right now, but know that in His time He'll bring
to pass what He wills.

God gave me a song two weeks ago (rock styled) titled "Life!" for a
benefit concert for teen suicide prevention/awareness. I'd never
done anything like this before, but we prayed (my husband and I) and
felt it was God's leading, so we did it. I got to talk to a lot of
pop/rock singers that weren't Christian and got to minister Christ in
the music and message, so that was pretty neat. Prayers they all get
Christ and not one soul be lost.

The full song, "Life!" can be heard on my shoutlife profile under
Christa Mason (I think, it might be under Christacatalyst, too.)
It's also available for purchase at
www.pizzansodashowcase.com/christa.

The other thing God gave me is the desire to put the Book of Psalms
to music, so the first CD is out there, "Simply Psalms - Blessed be
the Man..." (www.simplypsalms.com) which is psalms 1 - 9 to music
(sung to key background) and I'm praying to finish out the book of
Psalms in a 20 CD set - but LOL - mostly I'm a mom waiting on God and
His timing and praying dearly I keep in step with His sweet Holy
Spirit and not get ahead or behind - He is AWESOME!

I'd love other musicians input on the music. The song, "Life!" is
real rough - God blessed us to get it recorded, but it was done in 5
hours and I had just written it three days prior, so...needless to
say - it could be re-done - but it's what I have been given now, so
may God be glorifed in it!

My biggest problem is too often becoming impatient and having the
ever so arrogant "save the world" syndrome, when God just wants me to
rest in Him and be His beloved child. That said, g'night - I'm going
to bed!

God's grace, LOVE, JOY and Peace to you all!

In His Love, Mrs. Christa Mason (Christa)

I greet you All in the Precious and Holy Name of Jesus, my Saviour and Lord.
My name is Don Dewrell.  I am a new member here.  I have been singing gospel since about 7 years old.  A couple or 50 years ago.   I love to smile, Jesus put it there.  I am called into our Lords service and serve as He opens the door and leads.  I have been Pastor, Teacher, Evangelist and in these capacities served as a Prison Chaplain.  In all this my sweetest spiritual passion is to sing and lift up His Name.  I love to sing the old Hyms and am wonderfully blessed to sing them acapella when I can.  I write mostly in a country/gospel style as I have been raised country.  I milked the cows, slopped the hogs, feed the chickens every morning before I went to school and each evening when I came home.  These, now, are wonderful memories.
I've sang in churches, prisons, on stage, on TV, by the camp fire and in the shower.
I have been blessed to begin Songs In Heart Songwriters Guild, here in Foley, AL.  We are desiring to be a help to local songwriters who write positive and uplifting songs; songs of Truth and Reality.  God our Father and Jesus our Lord can only inspire such songs, through His Holy Spirit.  Such wonderful messages should not be allowed to remain on the written page not ministering to souls.  We have a hope to bring these songs up and out by His Leading and the writers faith, hope and effort.  If someone is in this area and you are a songwriter as I have mentioned, please do contact me.  If anyone would like to fellowship, I do love Christian fellowship.  Although, I'm not an avid e-mailer, I do send from time to time.  May our Lord Bless you all in Truth.
Brother Don

Hi Greg My name is Larry Barrett I live in Lebanon Mo. Sounds like
we`re both on the same road. Country music in the `80s gospel now,
even tho I still write a country song {old habits are hard to break]
now and then. Gospel is just better, more possitive, more uplifting
and keeps my mind in the right direction. I`d be glad to hear from you
and as to whats going on in your world of creativity. Larry Barrett

Nice to hear from you Greg. My name is Ken Robertson, I too have been writing gospel songs for over 20 years, used to write country, got saved and got changed, laid down the beer drinking songs for living water.  Don't get thirsty any more.  Great feeling when you sing one of yours and someone gets blessed instead of getting messed up.  God is good and he will give you the songs to sing that others need, listen to him and you can't lose only win.  God Bless you Brother, If I can help you in any way I'll be glad to.  Brother Ken    kenrministries@...

Hi
My name is Bobby Wright from Cartersville Ga. Im a full time minister
in the church as well as on the road in the Gospel music, side of our
industry. I do not want any part of the politics involved in gospel
music. Trust me I have been there. All of my songs are written to
glorify Jesus and only him. I pray that all of my songs over the years
have been a blessing and changed lives to the good. My goal is to win
as many souls to Christ as I can through my music before his return. I
would like to share my Material with other artist as well as other
songwriters. I would like to take a look at some of your work as well.
Continue to pray for me and as The Watchers. See ya later. Brother
Bobby Wright
