Memorial Jam for Rita Maloney   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #302 of 380 |
HI,
Dick Zion here. Fred Techau called me here at the Trails Center
yesterday (Thursday) and said that his Down Home Dulcimer Club was
going to host a memorial jam for Rita Maloney. Rita was a favorite
musician in this area for years and her passing has left a large hole
in all our hearts. The initial thoughts were to have the jam in
Silver City where Rita and Jim lived. Then someone suggested having
it at Woodlan Hills care facility, where Jim Maloney currently
resides. The jam will be on Thursday, September 25th starting at 6:30
PM until whenever. Woodland Hills is located at 1600 McPherson Ave.
in Council Bluffs. Take the Lake Manawa exit and go North into down
town Council Bluffs. Go right or east on Kanesville Blvd. between the
two hospitals to the Max I. Walker on ther right. These next
directions seem odd, but when you see the streets they will make
sense. Turn right off of Kanesville as if to go to Max I Walker and
then make a quick left onto Pierce. You will now be going east up the
hill. You will go past Hanusa Hardware on the left and pass between
Cemetaries at the top of the hill. Begin to watch to the left and a
ways on ahead you will see the Woodland Hills sign. If you pass the
St. Albert baseball diamond you went too far. The jam format will be
one song per person for the first round and then start over. If you
have questions Fred's phone # in Silver City is 712-525-9789.

Sincerely
Dick ZIon
