Hello,

This coming Saturday, September 27, the Wildwood Dulcimer Club is sponsoring workshops with two of the finest acoustic musicians in the U.S., Karen Ashbrook and Paul Oorts. They will be held at Underwood Hills Church, 851 North 74th Street  in Omaha. The morning session will run from 9:30-11:30 am and the afternoon session from 1:00-3:00. There will be a potluck lunch at 11:45 that all participants are invited to attend. Cost for single workshops are $25, or $40 for two.

Paul Oorts - mixed instruments

Morning session - European repertoire by Ear - mountain dulcimer friendly, suitable for mandolin, guitar, accordion, etc.

Afternoon session - Guitar - transitioning to DADGAD tuning - will start in standard tuning, look at dropped D, then go to DADGAD.

Karen - Hammered Dulcimer.

Morning session - advanced beginner/intermediate level
An easy Irish polka "Girl with the Blue Dress On" and a simple back up that is I & V (tonic and dominant) in the A part and I, IV, V in the B part.

Afternoon session -  intermediate/advanced
A harmonic minor waltz with accompaniment.
