Question Mark's mementos go up in flames
Current mood: hopeful

Thank you for all your kind words and support!
For those of you who have not heard about the devastation:
Calls of support, pledges of money and talk of a possible benefit
concert have poured in since a fire destroyed the home of '60s rocker
Question Mark last week.
"The phone's been ringing off the hook," said the singer, known for
the hits "96 Tears" and "Can't Get Enough of You Baby."
He lost 40 years' worth of memorabilia, including tapes, a gold
record award and a Farfisa organ, similar to the one used on "96
Tears," believed to have once belonged to Pink Floyd.
The Vienna Township blaze also killed four of his seven Yorkies and a
cockatoo.
Question Mark has taken calls from fans and fellow musicians, done
interviews with various media, including a Minnesota radio station,
and has been contacted about headlining a possible benefit at an
undisclosed location in Flint "in about two weeks."
Q, as his friends call him, also has been booked to perform with his
band, the Mysterians, at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 9 at Detroit's Winter Blast
outdoor festival.
A representative of Mark Farner, a Flint native, contacted The Flint
Journal on Monday suggesting the former Grand Funk Railroad singer-
guitarist might be willing to appear at a benefit if his schedule
allowed.
Question Mark, who didn't have insurance on the house where he has
lived for nearly four decades, welcomed the news, but wondered if
other members of Michigan's music community would step up to help him.
"Why don't we do a fundraiser at The Palace (of Auburn Hills) so
people can see our group?" he asked. "Maybe we can get Bob (Seger) to
take a break from his (tour) and have Mark (Farner) come in, Kid
Rock, Uncle Kracker, Eminem, whoever's available."
Question Mark asks that anyone who wants to write in with a cherished
memory or other items should send them to:
