Will inactivity at this group cause it's extinction? Just
curious......hasn't been active for a while. I'm hoping Val and
Brendan have been grooving on parenthood. I am dying to see them again
live anywhere in Northern Va. or Maryland.I know you are into other
projects north of here........but,
Guys, come back to Jammin' Java..........pulleeeeeeeeeese!!!!

Please excuse the slightly off-topic post, but we are looking for
exceptional musicians to replace some of our current lineup. We've
opened for GL a few times, seen them even more, and are basing the
spirit and work ethic of the group on GL's philosophy. Please pass
this along to anyone you think might be interested, or contact me if
you are. Thanks, -Amy

Nationally-known pop vocal band, seeks professional, experienced,
innovative vocalists/musicians. Seeking singers with a strong solo
voice (men and alto women), and a skilled vocal percussionist. Looking
for a maximum of 4 new members who can groove. All performances are
paid. Great ear required. Songwriting and arranging skills a plus;
ability to play other instruments also welcomed. Also interested in
incorporating pedals and effects. Songs are arranged collectively -
you will not be reading from written arrangements for the most part
(think band structure). All members get a chance to sing lead, but
also will be required to sing blended but creative backup parts. The
music is pop-oriented, with a little of whatever else moves us, so you
must have a pop voice and sensibility, and a hip look - we want a good
visual onstage as well as good music! Must be able to make a
commitment to some touring, and consistent gigging. Competent mic
technique and comfortable performance skills (movement, ability to
banter and joke) required.

We perform solely at listening rooms, festivals and concert halls of
prestige. We have strong relationships with many high-end venues, with
new performances being booked all the time. Booking is done both
internally and externally, but all management and business is
currently done internally by the members of the band. New recording in
the works.

Though this is not currently a full-time commitment, it may become so
at some point (or it may not). We are an award-winning vocal band
based in the Boston area, but a commuting band is an option if the
strongest candidates are in disparate locations. In fact, one of us
lives in CA! Rehearsals approximately once a week, perhaps more during
the initial phase.

Please contact amy@..., or 617.290.6749 with sound
clips, photo and bio/resume. If you'd like to mail recordings and
materials, please send to: Amy Malkoff, 182 Pleasant Street,
Marblehead, MA 01945. Any questions or concerns can also be sent to
the same address. We look forward to hearing from you and to a
creative, fun, and innovative project!

APRIL 19 - MAY 21
A Midsummer Night's Dream
Written by WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE
With live music by GROOVELILY
Directed by TINA LANDAU
A first-time collaboration and co-production with McCARTER THEATER

Shakespeare's most romantic comedy combines the world of imagination
with enchanting elements of Ancient Greece and Renaissance England.
And now, it gets an all new musical twist from the accomplished actor/
singer/musicians that are the pop/rock sensation GrooveLily! Ill-fated
lovers, bungling actors, and a feuding pair of sprites are struck with
Cupid's misfired arrows. The result: romantic havoc. Experience the
unreasoning and undeniably powerful nature of love in this purely
joyful, hilarious, and dreamlike comedy.

New goodies have been made available on www.petalpushers.info

There is a video of Peter Gabriel's In Your Eyes featuring
John Taglieri from the July 2, 2004 Minstrel Coffeehouse
performance. Video courtesy of Rob Bond.

There are also three tracks from September 15, 2004 the Art Music
Coffeehouse webcast. The three tracks are Can't Go Home (from S12),
Words of Love (a rare Brendan solo), and a three song preview from
Wheel House (neat stuff still in its infancy). These tracks are
courtesy of David Konigsberg.

Also, the entire Art Music Coffeehouse webcast is also available for
download, courtesy of the Art Music Coffeehouse archives.

Enjoy!

Enjoy!

Edison is sold out from what I can find.
We did find this place, though:

Jon,

A person from the theater group producing these shows suggested
checking out the Edison Hotel.
