Hello everyone
I just joined the group today.

I'd like to ask a basic question about guitar playing, I hope someone
will help me out.

Guitar players like Metallica's or other heavy metal bands, do they
play one string only with a heavy distortion? It sounds like it's one
note at a time but it sounds REAL filling and rich. Does that effect
mainly come from the effect device and amps they use, or does it have
anything to do with guitar type and strings types?
