I think they pull the pics to stop porn. You might try posting the pics on
the photo page for a few days. It would be cool to see some deterrent types of
raw wood anyway, whether for sale or not! I just got a Brazilian guitar in for
repair, looks like rosewood but you can't be sure. It would be nice to have a
comparison shot to look at. By the way, did you find out how big those pieces
were?

What are people`s methods for rethreading the electrics back into a
semi? I generally wire up the loom, feed it through an F hole and
then use wire to pull the pots, switch and jack through to their
positions. It means, though, that I rely on the shakeproof washer to
secure things in position whilst they are tightened. Does anybody
know of a tool to hold things in place - I tried Stuart Macdonald but
they don`t do anything.

Thanks,

Well, I don't know what's up with RV these days. The workshops were
going to be in June, and they'd call me. I think the teacher
cancelled out. Guess the workshops are postponed indefinitely.
Meanwhile, the 2003 Fall semester starts in August. I wonder if
they'll still offer the workshops while the full time course is in
session?

Actually it's the only book I have. I had been eyeing it at B&N back
home for a while when I spotted it in Hershey PA at the outlets for
$7 and snatched it up. Such a deal.

I don't know if it's the best, but it contains that kind of detail on
just about every facet of the process. Seems like the book was
assembled with the same care and attention to detail that the
instruments were.

Someday I'll have the time and fortitude to start my own instrument.
Till then the book will have to do.

Happy reading. Ray.

Wow. That was a great deal. That picture was so pretty it would have
been worth that just to use it for room accent. <grin> I'll check the
page out. Thanks.

Myrtle does nor compare to rosewood, but sounds good. Not as bright as maple
bodys, but warmer. That particular guitar was one of my earlier projects and
was built a bit on the heavy side, but played rather nicely. I sold it for six
hundred bucks because I needed the money, and accepted an offer below what I was
asking at the store it was on consighnment at. Now I try to get more, as my
skills have greatly improved. I have a basic price sheet on my web page at
http://www.reninet.com/~langdon/price.html
