Hello, all!

First, I wanted to make sure you all are using the new Geoff Wilbur's
Renegade Newsletter mailing address. (One of the advantages of being
on this mailing list is that you knew our new address before we moved
in August, but please make sure you have it on all your mailing lists
and in all your address books.) It is:

Geoff Wilbur's Renegade Newsletter
P.M.B. 350

I have asked a music industry friend to pick up the mail at the old
address in Rhode Island, and I expect to have that mail sometime in
January, so don't worry about anything you've sent there -- if/when
it all arrives safely, I'll mention it in an e-mail.

Just wanted to get a quick note out to you to let you know of the
ongoing difficulties in getting GWRN back up on schedule -- I just
lost the other computer. (That's BOTH of my computers within 3
months.) This seems to be a software issue rather than a hardware
issue -- and I have been able to copy all of my files onto ZIPdiscs
with no difficulty -- so (again) I don't believe any information has
been lost. I'm not sure how easy it will be to get it up and running
again. I may have to reinstall everything, but at least I don't
think the hardware's causing the problem.

In any case, I don't know if I'll be away from e-mail for a couple
days or for several weeks, so I'm taking a few moments from my day
job to send this quick e-mail.

I was about halfway done rebuilding the Renegade layout (in temporary
form in another format until I can replace the software that was on
the initial Renegade computer) when this computer went down. This
delay could be anywhere from a couple days to a few weeks.

But don't worry -- the Renegade is not going away; it is simply have
computer-related difficulties. Everyone's reviews will run when the
computers are working again. If there isn't enough room in the print
editions to fit so many reviews so quickly, I may run some of them
online instead just to get caught up more quickly. (Even if I did
ever pull the plug on the Renegade, I would feel obligated to run
everyone's reviews first.)

Thanks for your support, but please hold off on your e-mails. I
don't check Renegade (or personal) e-mails from my day job -- except
for this one because I don't have any other way to send it out -- so
I will be offline for anywhere from a couple days to a few weeks
(depending on the severity of my computer problem).

Sorry for the delays, but I can promise you -- it's an ever bigger
headache for me.

Cheers!
Geoff Wilbur, publisher
