1) PUBLISHER'S NOTE

Hello again! Since I'm still relatively new at this monthly
update thing, please feel free to make suggestions about items
you'd like to see included in our monthly updates. (Actually,
even after I've been doing this for a while, please feel free to
make suggestions.)

If you're new to an egroups mailing list, try checking out the
main website at http://www.egroups.com. Once you log in, if you
click on the "my space" button, you can see the egroups mailing
lists you've signed up for. If you click on Geoff Wilbur's
Renegade Newsletter, it will take you to the GWRN area. There,
you can read past monthly updates. In the "Vault" area, I've
uploaded all the Advertising rate and deadline information. I've
also put all the pertinent Renegade website links in the links
area. And I have placed a few upcoming dates of interest on the
calendar. (You may also be able to go directly to the GWRN area
by clicking on http://www.eGroups.com/group/gwrn/info.html.)

Thanks again for subscribing to this mailing list. This list has
made it a lot easier to keep you, our readers and supporters,
up-to-date on what's new at the Renegade. Those of you who
signed up for the monthly update this month may enjoy reading the
entire update. For the rest of you, you may wish to direct your
attention to a specific section of interest -- to the most
recent, updated list of writers' e-mail addresses if you're
playing out and want to invite someone to a show, or to the list
of upcoming interviews to see what's on the horizon. Or perhaps
you wish to note the upcoming deadlines if you're an interested
advertiser. In any case, this monthly update ensures that, once
a month, you'll always have the latest Renegade information at
your fingertips. And if your e-mailbox is as full as mine,
you'll be glad we only send the update once a month rather than
more often.

An interview with Purrr has be completed for the May 2000
Industry Edition.

3) UPCOMING DEADLINES

Upcoming advertising deadlines are:

Spring 2000 Country Music Industry Edition -- March 8, 2000
May 2000 Industry Edition -- April 30, 2000
June 2000 Street Edition -- May 18, 2000

Advertising rates are as low as $50 (1/9 page) for the Industry
Edition, $75 (1/4 page) for the Street Edition, and $60 (1/4
page) for the Country Music Industry Edition.

Send an e-mail renegade@... with your e-mail and/or
phone number if you want to be contacted with more information
about advertising in any of these upcoming issues.

4) RENEGADE WRITER APPEARANCES

Whenever a Renegade writer is firmly scheduled to attend at a
local live show or other event and invites you to say hello
(and/or personally deliver a press kit if you'd like), you'll
read about it in this section.

Several Renegade writers are musicians. You may wish to attend a
writer's gig and use it as an opportunity to network with that
writer.

Check your local listings for upcoming shows by Renegade writers
and their bands; they are Pamela West, Chain Reaction (Eric
Harabadian), Divinesnapperkings (Kevin Hurrell), Saje (Steven
Haidaichuk), SOS (MikeSOS), and Mike Farley.

Newsletter, plus additional reviews for which there was not
enough space in the print edition.

Subscription rates are officially increasing from $5 per edition
per year to $6 per edition per year in the U.S. (Rates for
Mexico/Canada will increase from $7 to $8; overseas will remain
$10.) These new rates have been updated on our printable
subscription form, but the old subscription rates are still
currently available when subscribing by credit card online, at
least for the next few days.

SHOW

Following is a city-by-city list (alphabetized by state, then
city) of Renegade writers with e-mail addresses. If your band
(or a band you represent) is performing near one of our writers,
please contact that writer directly to invite him/her out to the
show. Each writer has the authority to decide to cover a show
without receiving prior permission from the publisher. Please
keep in mind that all of our writers have other jobs. Depending
on their other commitments, some are more likely than others to
be able to cover shows, though they'll all appreciate the
opportunity.
