Happy Thanksgiving from Clearwater Hot Club!

We've got great news -- "Louisiana Fairy Tale," our new album with jazz violin virtuoso Tim Kliphuis, has just arrived! To celebrate, we're holding an impromptu show at Brewed Awakenings in Grand Rapids this Saturday (tomorrow!) November 28th from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. If you're in GR you should swing by, say hi, and check out the new CD.

For those of you not fortunate enough to be in northern MN this weekend, the new album should be available on cdbaby.com within the week and will also be available at MacRostie Art Center, Brewed Awakenings, The Village Bookstore and Something Original in Grand Rapids.

Best wishes,

Sam Miltich and the Clearwater Hot Club

I am selling my Encore. The photos are listed in a folder as David - Shelley Park Encore.

the guitar features:

Beautiful Adirondack red spruce top with Koa back and sides;
Snakehead tuner pegs
Bigtone Pickup that Shelley created for the guitar

It's a great rhythm or lead guitar; in excellent + condition.

Price: $3000 which includes shipping & insurance.

this is a great guitar that has been very well taken care of at a great price as a new one is around $4500.

My wife and I, retired teachers are considering a trip to New Zealand next year.

Does anyone on this list live there? and if so would you be interested in
getting together for some playing while we're down there?

The SelMac is a hybrid itself, with mandolin DNA

"The Henri Selmer-Mario Maccaferri guitar was built using the construction
techniques of a mandolin with steel strings, with pressure on the top that
increases its volume and gave it a trebly tone."

I designed a hybrid I call the Bauhaus which can be seen at
http://www.spotgrafix.com/bauhaus/IMG_2459.JPG More pics at
http://www.kellerguitars.com/forums/index.php?act=module&module=gallery&cmd=sc&c\
at=5 (you may have to copy/paste the full URL).

Michael Keller built it. I have a wonderful Michael Dunn Mystery Pacific for the
authentic Selmer sound, but the Bauhaus is a nice compromise between many
things. It's loud and percussive like an archtop or a Selmer but also has the
richness of a good flatpicking guitar. Anyone who has played guitar at a
bluegrass jam knows the guitar usually gets drowned out, I get enough volume to
cut through with this, still get an appropriate sound and can use it where I
would a Selmer or an archtop. It's not a substitute for anything - just another
instrument that borrows good qualities from different places and which lends
itself musically to a number of settings. Of all my instruments, it's probably
the most versatile.
