Happy Spring (even if Spring isn't quite sure of itself this year)!

I just got back last night (actually this morning at 2 am) from a
really, really lovely weekend teaching and performing in Mexico City
(and am packing to leave for Slovenia tomorrow!). Thanks so much to
Adriana and Amaranta for being such lovely hostesses. We had a packed
workshop in the lovely Al-Musharabiya Studio (
http://www.almosharabia.com/ ) (thanks to Lila Zellet Elías). We are
planning to do a training program in Mexico City. We hope to do an
introductory weekend in the fall and then start the project in 2010.

I'll be in Slovenia this coming weekend as the guest artist of KUOD
Bayani's ( http://www.kuod-bayani.com/novicke.htm ) anniversary Gala
event and to teach two workshops. I'm looking forward to being there
and hope for some beautiful Alpine Spring...then it is on to Armenia,
Turkey and fianlly workshops in Mönchengladbach, Germany.

This year I am celebrating an anniversary: 30 years of teaching!!! I
can hardly believe it! I will be celebrating with some special events
this year...performances and a special dance and percussion intensive
week August 5-9th in Seattle with the wonderful Rowan Storm (
http://iran-rowanstorm.blogspot.com/ ) as guest teacher. Seattle is
spectacular at that time of year and a wonderful place to come on
vacation...and for those of you in Europe the exchange rate is on your
side at the moment! I'm hoping to greet students from around the
globe. We will have a lovely community evening on the 9th to
celebrate the end of the week...guest artists are Rowan Storm and the
incomprable Kane Mathis (

In Germany we will be celebrating my anniversary as well. I have two
gala evenings planned: one at Junges Theater (
http://www.junges-theater.de/ ) in Göttingen on October 4th and one
at the Tanzhaus NRW ( http://www.tanzhaus-nrw.de/de/index.php ) on
October 10th. I would like to invite all of my German students from
the past 25 years of workshops and training projects to join me on
stage. If you are interested in performing in one or both of these
galas please contact me soon! It would be great to have some of the
old project groups as well. And don't forget we start a new training
