Hey everyone. Yeah, Zao is back together, complete with Dan Weyandt,
and they've got a new CD out. It's decent, though it's not something I'd
hop up and down about. I am not a big fan of The Chariot's studio release,
but I really want to encourage everyone to check them out live. It's an
experience not to be missed. I saw them recently in Dallas, and they
commanded the audience as good as Norma Jean ever did. Very good stuff, and
the music sounds a lot better live. (I know they recorded the CD live
because they KNEW that would happen, but it still didn't work out, sorry
Chariot!)
Demon Hunter's new release is solid, if a little bit alterna-nu-metal
in places. Other new releases of note this year are "I Am Hollywood", which
is another great band to see live. I really like how their second studio
album turned out. Underoath's new CD is great, a logical progression of
where they've been headed lately. Alterna-metal-screamo-core at it's
finest. I have Haste The Day's CD but I haven't listened to it much. On
the surface it seemed a little thin and cliche. I also have Dead to Fall's
Villany and Virtue CD, but I haven't given it much air time either.
All in all 2004 was a great year for Christian Hard Music. I'd have to
say The Chariot's release has been ,y favorite though, and it has spent the
most time revolving in my CD player. Yeah, it doesn't live up to their live
show, but after you've seen them live the CD effectively brings back the
memories.
Rock on in 2005 everyone!

Hey everyone. Nice to see you Toir and Krista. I havent checked in in
a while. I didnt even know Zao was together much less released a new
album. Im so out of touch!! I dont even know what albums I bought
this past year that are hardcore. None I can really think of. Havent
bought much new pusic lately. The best album of the year for me Id
say is Jeff Deyo's "Light". Great rockin praise.
