Hi, just discovered this group and would love to expand my boot
collection of Roy Harper.
(in round figures my roy collection stands at 1 CD:Heavy Crazy,
London 1974)
I am, in my wife's opinion, entering my rock and (or) roll second
childhood!
I suppose the introductory message should contain some kind of Harper
justifcation from the author.
Well, my favorite album is probably Folkjokepus with Flat Baroque &
Beserk comming in at a close second while my favorite song is
McGhoohan's Blues.
Harper story:
Went to Plumpton to see him and when Ginger Baker's bloody Airforce
came on I, up a pole, shouted; Where's Harper, Baker, you bastard?
He (baker) told me to Fu*k off.
As you probably know, roy was a bit under the chemical weather that
evening and could not play.
If memory serves me well they actually dragged Baker off stage after
about 3 hours when the police intervened due to noise and the late
hour.
Should of dragged the git off after 3 minutes!
Anyway, after stubbing my toe down memory lane I need to ask:
While nobody's got any money in the summer, does anyone have any
Harper boots they may want to trade?
I have a fairly respectable list (albeit a bit short in the Harper
department) I would be more than willing to pass on to those
interested.
Take it easy but take it,
Amishboy
I still have not seen Roy live!.
