I just gave Doug Tate a phone call at SPAH to see how things were coming
along. He told me that some people were saying that this is the best SPAH
yet! As I understand it the convention hotel has been practically entirely
booked out by the SPAH attendees, and many have had to stay in a nearby
hotel. The biggest concern at this time is how they are going to fit all the
participants in the dining area for the gala banquet! Just my luck I can't
be there. :-( I've always found it a curiosity that many people living
in the U.S. or Canada could attend for a few hundred bucks and choose not
to, while others in far off lands are prepared to sacrifice thousands of
dollars to be part of it all.

Anyway, I guess I've got Texas to look forward to next year. Should be a
hum-dinger!
