So, most of us in NY know CBGB is very very very likely to close at
the end of summer (http://www.savecbgb.org/). It really says something
about rock worldwide when no one steps up to fix this situation.
Anyway, on a happier note, like many bands we got our start at CBGB.
Our first shows there were for Althea's night, Alchemy, and it's
really disappointing to know it could all be going away. It was always
a fun idea of ours to come back when we're big and do little secret
shows there and experience that closeness you can only get at a venue
like that.
So we're playing it one last time to celebrate our own beginning
there! August 8th we'll be sharing the night with rockers Drop Dead
Gorgeous, at the very same location where we celebrated Blight's
birthday last October! I'm sure you remember *that* night...
zombies... cupcakes... brains!
This show is going to be 16+ so finally those of you who have been
cursing NYC venues for never letting you in will be able to come out
and bring the ruckus! I can't even think of another 16+ venue besides
CBGB in New York. So wack that it's closing. *grumble*
But yeah, August 8th is less than three weeks away. Maybe I should
have made the show sooner, like the 1st. I hate waiting :-P
Oh, I think they have one of those webcast thingies there too. You
guys want me to check on that? It's 4:02am. Bye bye.
