Starting your own label, so that you can sign Hate in the Box and live
a life of luxury collecting toys and stuffeses, just got easier than ever!

Ok we're exaggerating, but only a little bit ;)

Torn Suture (http://www.myspace.com/tornsuture) wrote us suggesting we
look into a site called StereoFame.com that basically gives you free
stuff for making a label and telling your friends about bands you
like. Sooooo it's like getting free stuff for something you already
do! We love that you've been doing this for the low low price of our
undying love for you, but knowing you can get things for it now sounds
pretty awesome =D

If you hate getting free stuff and refuse to do it for yourself,
please... think of the sad gnomes that are living lonely miserable
lives without HITB music. You have the power in your hands to remedy
this!

Get started and while you're there download eLECTRIC dOLLS for free too ;)

What an amazing night for our 75th Court of Lazarus! The outpouring of
support and enthusiasm last night from all the Guests, Citizens and Elders
continually amazes me.

VULGARAS gave an astonishing performance not to be missed! If for any crazy
reason you did though, check them out at Don Hill's on May 22nd. You can
find out more information at <http://www.vulgaras.net/>
http://www.vulgaras.net/. MARK DEMON had his beautifully disturbing
artistry on display all night. Thanks to Mark for elevating our cultural
palates! HEIROPHANT ENRICO FALES consecrated the evening with an
enlightening ritual for the full moon in Scorpio. Thank you to MALACKAI for
his insightful tarot readings and to he and SHERRY for becoming the newest
LAZARUS CITIZENS! We are thrilled to welcome you among us. Congratulations
to KITTY HAWKE for winning the raffle basket last night!!! NEFARIOUS
provided the soundtrack for the evening and kept everyone dancing very late
into the evening. My appreciation to him for having everyone's favorite
music playing throughout the night. and for only playing "O Fortuna" a
little when I'm on stage! ;)

We were pleased to see so many friends, both new and old, back at Court. We
want to express our gratitude to MARKE, VINCENT, JOSEPH D'ANGELI, KAGE, SIR
WILLIAM, RAINBOW BLIGHT & OPTIMUS CRIME, REGENT JOHNNY, LUCRETIA and AURORA
MIRANDA (of Society Nocturnus of Gotham), ALTHEA, REBECCA AND JOHN
BLASPHEMY, just to name a few. It is the continuing support from within and
from our neighboring Courts and events that keeps our community strong.

Thank you all for everything!

My Dearest Brethren,

I would like to graciously thank those of you who came out to the 74th Court
of Lazarus on this past Sunday. It is all of you that make Court more
amazing every month. This month felt like a family reunion to me and I felt
honored and proud to be a part of it and to help bring it to each of you!

My most sincere appreciation goes to MARK SINNIS for allowing us to share in
his debut record release! It was an amazing performance and I look forward
to hearing more and more from him. The 50 free cds were extremely generous
and I’m sure everyone who received one was thrilled! We welcomed 2 new
Elders to the Court of Lazarus this month also. It is the continued support
from individuals like MARK DEMON and FRANCINE DEVI that make Court so
unique.

Our special Guests of Honor for the evening, CHRISTIAN BLOOD and TSARINA
NIKOLA presided over the new initiates to The Order of the Black Marble. I
am happy to have had the chance to witness such an important ritual, filled
with such remarkable individuals. Heirophant ENRICO FALES consecrated our
sacred Court to begin the evening. His magic and talent never cease to
impress.

Thank you to MISTRESS CRIMSON for her risqué display! Thanks to MALACKAI
for his enlightening free tarot reading throughout the evening and to
SHERRIE SPENCER for sharing her jewelry and artistic creations! NEFARIOUS
had all of the breathtaking, beautiful women of the Court dancing all night.
Thanks to him for the great music!

To the Lazarus Council for providing us with so many great treasures in this
month’s raffle basket! Thank you to all who bought tickets and
congratulations to ASIF for finally winning!

Noteworthy guests this month were many and though I can’t list them all
here, I would like to thank Lucretia De Noite, Aurora Miranda, Althea, Lisa
and Mitch, Velocity, Blight and Crime, Ra Ubasti, Lady Thera and Gabrielle.
Thank you all for the pleasure of your company and the honor you bestow upon
us with your attendance!

Please stay tuned for a formal invitation to our next Court on Sunday, April
20th. I look forward to seeing you all there!

THANK YOU NEW ENGLAND!

Thanks to all of the friends and fans who supported us on our New

DARK BEATS RADIO INTERVIEW

If you missed the interview broadcast February 13th on the Dark Beats
radio show, harass the kind peeps at http://www.myspace.com/darkbeatsgoth
It was recorded before that broadcast so with a little encouragement
from you ghouls and toys we suspect they wouldn't mind making it
available in some form or another ;)

Since we didn't have /that/ interview for you right now, here's a fun
one we found in the HITB auditory archive that we enjoyed a lot! This
was the result of an invitation from the lovely DJ At (meowr!) who has
hopefully been recovering from her recent attack of angelic behavior
disorder ;) http://www.hateinthebox.com/audio/DJ-AT.mp3
Fast forward a bit to get to the good stuff =D

Salutations from the depths of our new hideout far below
the surface of the Earth! This month's email treat finds us
with more pictures, an evil schoolgirl party in NYC, and
new Hate in the Box video footage courtesy of Vampire

PIRATE PICTURES!

rejoice! Wayne Herrschaft of Headlamp Digital captured the
majesty of our most recent performance at the ominous
Otto's Shrunken Head with his phototronic magicalness
and the results must be seen to be believed!

EVIL SCHOOLGIRLS MEET NECROMANTIC IN NYC!

We all know what happens when schoolgirls mix with anything
necromantic, late at night, in the dark, don't we? It get's
even better with cupcakes! That's what's coming to Knitting
Factory in NYC this Friday night! Opening at 11 to keep the
daywalkers in the dark, this 18+ party will be waking the
dead with DJs, dancing and Hate in the Box live in our back
to sGhoul best!

And cupcakes! Partly due to the suspicions of parental
units who disapprove of a living doll serving up cuppycakes
of her own nefarious design, we've secured a sweet supply
from the much more reputable baking talents at Burgers and
Cupcakes. Nummy!

SECRET SUPERVILLAIN VIDEO FOOTAGE!

We love costumes and themes (as if you didn't know =P) and
at this Supervillain themed party in New York City's famed
lower east side Rainbow Blight was rocking her favorite
vision of the classic villainess Typhoid Mary, Yum!

The gent to thank for this lengthy selection of songs
and eye candy is Asif Murad of The Vampyre Lounge, the
longest running public access dark culture TV show in NYC.
Hey! That means we were on TV, I didn't think of that =P

DRACULAS BALL PICS AT HATEINTHEBOX.COM

We're back from Philadelphia where we rocked Dracula's Ball,
and we're happily running amok back in our hometown, New
York City, again.

This time we remembered to bring a camera! Didn't get as

HATE IN THE BOX AT CONEY ISLAND SIDESHOW
[free MP3 link below]

Booze! Beauties! Bumper Cars! Birthday? Experience it all
this coming Friday, June 8th! This will be the historic
first time Hate in the Box plays at America's one and only
remaining permanent sideshow!

As lovers of all things unique, freakish and fantastic,
sideshows have a special place in our dark hearts. However,
the Coney Island Sideshow is super-mega-ultra special to us
because it's the first one we ever experienced live!

Not special enough for you? Did we forget to mention that
this show will feature ex-HITB drummer Damnique? It's on!!!

To give you a sneaky peek at what things will be like that
night, here's a rough recording of Porcelain from our last
rehearsal.

KABOOM!
http://www.hateinthebox.com/audio/05312007/Porcelain-EQ.mp3

*Still* not special enough? It's Optimus Crime's birthday!
So to recap... the Cyclone, the Sideshow, Burleque Beauties,
Damnique drumming, and Crime's birthday all on a Friday
night in Coney Island!

Ever since our first visit Blight and I have wanted to have
a little show of our own there. Now we have our chance and
it's going to be a hell of a lot bigger than we imagined!

BURLESQUE ON THE BEACH

Burlesque on the Beach is the party we've been invited to
delight with our wicked wonderland soundscape, and a bevy of
beauties will enchant you before and after our set!

It's no secret that this is probably the last chance anyone
will have to enjoy this kind of party in Coney Island.
Here's one of many articles that sum up the changes
coming our way and why we're being as optimistic as we can
and partying NOW!

one year anniversary of Bloody Mondays! And it's going to be
a Superheroes VS Supervillains themed extravaganza! As if we
needed an excuse to wear costumes :-P

Speaking of costumes, everyone who comes dressed up gets in
for HALF-PRICE! If that wasn't enough, you get a free shot
of Spider Bite! It's almost like getting paid to show up ;)

The band HUNG, our friends and hosts of the amazing 666 Show
begin the festivities at 11pm. This band features the mad
violin skills of Lyris Hung, the selfsame vixen who
performed as a member of Hate in the Box at the Terrible
Toy Fair!

Hate in the Box will be unleashing their supervillainy
musical maelstrom at 11:30pm! Right after the bands there
will be a special burlesque performance by the evil and
talented Mistress Crimson that you do not want to miss! You
can also pick up our sexy new stickers at this show before
anyone else has the chance to snatch 'em up.

So after moving recently we were wading in a sea of boxes
and rediscovered the BYTE compilation that featured eLECTRIC
dOLLS, one of the recent elektronicky songs Blight and I
did. And thought to myself...

"Self, why are there so few compilations coming out? Maybe
I'm just not hearing about them? What's up with that?" :?

And then I realized that anyone can just make a playlist and
share it with friends. Of course there's the problem of
seeking high and low for the songs in that playlist if you
don't have the same collection blah blah blah.

But now I've got it all figured out! :D
iTunes has this thing called iMixes, where you can make
your own playlists and write up a title and description
about it's theme and content and what you had for breakfast,
then publish it into their system. After that they give you
a link to promote it, people can search for it in the
iTunes store, etc. So basically, instead of making a label
and pressing a CD and all that hard stuff fans had to do
to really really help bands they like you can make iMixes.

Blight and I thought about it and decided we wouldn't feel
cool knowing people are making iMixes with Hate in the Box
songs in them, sending them to friends and stuff and not
getting anything so how's about this:

HOW TO GET FREE STUFF
Make some iMixes with a few Hate in the Box songs in it,
and one of the mixes gets 20 ratings with a 4 star or
better then send us the link and your address to get a
free CD. A lot of you have our albums already so we'll
give you a choice of say... Razorblade Fairytales and a
special CD with songs we haven't released yet, secret
bootleggy stuff ;)

Check out this tutorial from Apple to learn how to
get to it :)

Hate in the Box songs in the iTunes system are at
http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=75418538&s=143441
or http://tinyurl.com/26rh3y

If you want to cheat a bit, post links to the lists you
make here and we'll vote you some free stars :P

We're really curious to see what bands you mix us up with,
it'll be fun to see!

CBGB GALLERY PERFORMANCE (NYC 7/14)

HEAR HITB ON LAST.FM

NEW SONG AT VAMPIREFREAKS.COM

Aw yeah! =D

LIVE AT CBGB LOUNGE JULY 14TH!

For a long time we've gotten messages from those of you who are
underage and lack proper grown-up disguises saying they couldn't
getinto our shows. Not only that, but you've told us you couldn't get
into ANY shows AT ALL because promoters pretend people under 21 are as
likely to exist as the Loch Ness Monster.

Out of the kindness of her heart, our favorite goth promoter Althea
hashelped us remedy this with our first-ever ALL AGES GOTH ROCK
SHOW!!! Now freaks of all ages can be bent and twisted into our zombie
minions!! uh.... I mean.... enjoy some RAD music! yeah!

Anyway, this spookfest-to-end-all-spookfests will be featuring none
other than VOLTAIRE, right after us! Voltaire is a talented parodist,
artist and more, you can check him out at www.voltaire.net if you
haven't already. There are also gonna be some gothalicious tunes
provided by The Cross Between, Losing Venus and DUST!

To top it all off, this evening will be our lovely promoter Althea's
BIRTHDAY! So stay for some cake (we promise not to put too much
arsenic in it)! Doors open at 8pm. and we hit the stage at 11pm so
don't be late!!! This is all taking place at CBGB's downstairs lounge
at 313 Bowery!

HITB UNLEASHED UPON LAST.FM!

In other news, we've spread our electro-tentacles even further
throughout the big, bad internet, to a website called last.fm .
Whenever a fan emails us asking why they can't find our music on their
favorite site, we listen, and our tech gnomes are punished
accordingly. After a stern talking to, our gnomes researched last.fm
and found out that it's actually pretty darn awesome.

Basically you search for bands you like, and while you're listening
the system plays other bands that it thinks you might like. What's
really cool is that if you don't like the song it chose, you can skip
or even ban the track, so you never have to hear it again. You can
also Heart the track so the system will learn what you love and play
it more often for you. You can do this for free and as many times as
you like, unlike the pandora genome project thingy. Pretty smoov!

Sadly we don't get any awesome stuff out of letting you know about
this but we really like the system, and the more people know about it,
the more bands we like will participate on the website and the more
good music *we* get to listen to! So...uh... we lied. We do get
something out of it, and so do you! So be good little minions and try
it out, or no ice cream for you!

Linky link! --> http://www.last.fm/music/Hate+In+The+Box

NEW SONG UNVEILED AT VAMPIREFREAKS.COM!

So a bunch of fans told us that we should make a profile on
vampirefreaks.com and I thought to myself...

Self... isn't it kind of rude to just post the same stuff we have on
MySpace in the vampirefreaks.com profile? So even though we've been
wanting to keep the new material super secret until it's all ready to
be unleashed at once, we've decided to share this one. Ever get
excited about something and couldn't keep it a secret anymore? It's
that kind of feeling now that we're so close to being done ;)

Anyway, this is a treat for you guys on our friends list only, so now
that we told you all we'll be taking it down after a few days so have
a listen now and let us know what you think!

Linky over here --> http://vampirefreaks.com/u/hateinthebox

Thanks again to all of you who listen to our malevolent symphonies!

Hey all!
Been getting ready for this next show in June and thought we'd share
some of what's going on with you all. And there's been a whole hell of a
lot, so I I'm making my first ever LiveJournal cut! Everybody stand back
and sign the waiver before clicking, who knows what'll happen if I do
this wrong :-P

Blight and I have been making music together for long enough now that
people coming and going is nothing surprising, but when I stepped back
to look at how we're doing this next show I realized this is our
"supergroup" lineup! I had often thought of doing something like this
but never really set out to take it seriously. Next thing we know it's
all in place.

The last rising star to come to this rehearsal Thursday night to
hang out was none other than Christian of the Evolutionaries! We've
performed on the same bill before a few times, including Mr C's birthday
party last year with Things Outside The Skin and others, but this will
be our first time playing together under the Hate in the Box banner.

Most of you already know Lillie of Glass Doll has been playing bass
at the last few outings, and we've collaborated on a few songs for the
new CD too. We'll be unveiling one of those for you guys who come out
06/06/06 =D If things go my way, we'll have a live recording to let you
guys pass around on the net, so let's all cross our fingers ;)

We're so excited about this show! Not every day is 06/06/06, and we
weren't really sure how to make it super awesome until metal maven Lyris
of HUNG invited us to perform with them and a selection of equally
awesome metal acts, including Warblade and Full Blown Chaos.

It's pretty obvious we're not a metal or hardcore act, but who
really listens to only one kind of music? Or even one genre of rock? So
we're sooooo looking forward to it.

For those of you who were at the Terrible Toy Fair event at CBGBs
gallery HUNG is the band created by the electric violinist that
performed with us that night. I'll try to dig up some pictures of that
because that night was awesome. I really can't wait to bring these shows
to you guys out of town again.

Speaking of out of town, making the journey from Rhode Island to New
York will be AbSynthe, who we'll be welcoming in August with a
performance in Queens. If you know New York City well, Queens isn't
really known for much other than The Ramones and being uncool. Which is
exactly why we're playing there =D People in Queens need rock too damn
it! So all of you in that borough who hate seeing everything happening
in Manhattan finally get the show you deserve :)

Speaking of shows ( I did warn that this was long didn't I? )
Althea, Queen of Alchemy, invited us to play her birthday party at an as
yet secret undisclosed location. All I'm allowed to say is that we'll be
rocking with Dust and some other favorites of hers so it's going to be a
blast.

But all that's in the future, 06/06/06 is what's giving me the evil
glint in my eye right now. With Christian, Lillie and our new drummer
Holly Horror I can only imagine how much we'll have =D Oh we didn't tell
you about the new drummer yet? Oops. Well you I've just been informed
that I've shared far too much news for anyone to want to read it all so
I'll just have to save info about that for later.

Looking forward to seeing you all at Crash Mansion on 06/06/06. It's
just so fun to say. Er... type. I guess. So how could I resist saying
it again. Here's links to all this mountain of stuff I mentioned above.
Oh yeah, and sign up for the mailing list if you're not already on it.
Sometimes I forget to post new stuff on here and we don't get the chance
to hear your feedback on stuff.

Now mentioning feedback reminds me, you guys all said you'd rather
be a vampire than a zombie, but which would you rather have an army of?
Legion of zombie minions? Or cadre of vampires? You guys aren't
followers, so that's probably the question I should have asked first. Oh
well, better late than never =D

I'm being physically hinted that this is really really too long now so
off I go.

Noise and Beauty,
Optimus Crime

So, The Truth Warrior really has an issue with the word "Refugee" being
  erroneously used.
Is he raising money for the "poor" then or just wanting the word "Refugee"
used correctly? And, for those folks at UNHC to stop taking pictures of
strange poor people and labeling them as refugees?

What would the "Fugees" have to say about this?

  Hi there,

I am SAM, an Iraqi refugee living in Lebanon at the moment; I have spent the

This campaign is about Human beings, Democracy, UNHCR, Refugees, The Iraqis,
Islam, Kurds, Human rights, Respect, Money, Donations, Angelina Jolie,
Pavarotti, Giorgio Armani, Donors, Peace, History, Campaigns and about you if
you care about these words.

Hi there,

I am SAM, an Iraqi refugee living in Lebanon at the moment; I have spent the
last 10 years of my life as a refugee registered with the UNHCR in Beirut. The
last 4 years, I have spent as an activist for peace and human rights (especially
refugees and asylum seekers) on the Internet; I'm also books author and ebooks
publisher. I have launched many campaigns to improve our situation as refugees
in Lebanon and hopefully bring more understanding to our problems worldwide. I
helped make many changes and improvements at the UNHCR office in Beirut; I used
the Internet as the field for my activities (you can read more about that in my
free ebook 'MY CAMPAIGNS'). All my ebooks are free and could be download from my
sites.

This is my newest campaign, it's about the illegal and humiliating actions of
the UNHCR, who using photos of refugees as banners and human-buttons to collect
money. This is an abuse of the dignity and humanity of the refugees and must
stop immediately and a clear public apology present by The United Nations High
Commissioner for Refugees. My friends, I am talking about the pictures you can
see here: http://lebanon.wyger.nl/human-buttons.htm

Also you can read my new campaign 'Urgent, we need smile' here:
http://unhcrlebanon.batcave.net/smile.html

For more info about UNHCR and life of refugees you can read my free ebooks. I
invite you as fellow humans and members of the world community to support my
campaign by reading my article on my site and see the human-buttons. The
campaign is to support and improve the UNHCR http://www.unhcr.ch especially
after the last scandals in the UN and UNHCR, just for example:
http://www.mizzima.com/archives/news-in-2005/news-in-april/12-April05-22.htm

"We make demonstration and fast because the UNHCR office in Cairo did nothing
for our problem..." http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/4440730.stm

Together we will build better world.

Get your engines ready! It's a new year and we're off and running!
First, we have a show coming up January 20th! All the
details are up at www.hateinthebox.com but as a teaser, we want you to
know that we'll be playing tons of new songs and we'll have a special
guest guitarist. Will it be the tooth fairy? Freddy Krueger? A GIANT
Robot?! The Easter bunny?!!! The mystery shall be revealed at our
performance!

While the-guitarist-who-will-not-be-named will be playing the next
couple of shows, we are still auditioning for a permanent position in
the band! Don't worry, our newest member Lillie is still performing
with us, he is just taking all of his pain out on the bass now. And
oh, so much pain it is! Worthy guitarists write to
blight@... with links or attachments of photos of
yourself, your playing, your likelihood of zombification and your
little sister. This of course only applies to people living or able
to travel to NYC on a regular basis! Whether you travel by dirigible
or by clawing your way over the corpses of your enemies, makes no
difference to us, just be dead-icated to wreaking havoc with Hate in
the Box!

Aside from that, we had a poll on the site as to what communities
you all prefer to have us post on and Livejournal won by a landslide!
Yes the dreaded harbinger of online angst will now be turned to a
newer, spookier cause, a meeting place for fans of HITB! There are
already a bunch of posts in there, many of them by our newest band member!
While you're perusing that you can also brainwash... I mean, introduce
yourself in the special Getting to know you before we eat your brains
post, in the community. You can read the
posts here: http://www.livejournal.com/community/hate_in_the_box/

And join up here:
http://www.livejournal.com/userinfo.bml?user=hate_in_the_box

With that said, do you think we should still keep the Yahoo group, now
that we have our official mailing list, a myspace music profile
(www.myspace.com/hateinthebox) AND the LJ community? Should we simply
go back to beaming the updates directly into your skull via our zombie
penguin satellite, despite the sometimes horrifying side effects? Vote
yay or nay, today! souffle! enchante! something-ay!
If you don't vote, than that's a Nay. We'll be decided by the end of
the day... I mean week...ay!

Rock on,
Rainbow Blight-ay!
