Get your engines ready! It's a new year and we're off and running!
First, we have a show coming up January 20th! All the
details are up at www.hateinthebox.com but as a teaser, we want you to
know that we'll be playing tons of new songs and we'll have a special
guest guitarist. Will it be the tooth fairy? Freddy Krueger? A GIANT
Robot?! The Easter bunny?!!! The mystery shall be revealed at our
performance!
While the-guitarist-who-will-not-be-named will be playing the next
couple of shows, we are still auditioning for a permanent position in
the band! Don't worry, our newest member Lillie is still performing
with us, he is just taking all of his pain out on the bass now. And
oh, so much pain it is! Worthy guitarists write to
blight@... with links or attachments of photos of
yourself, your playing, your likelihood of zombification and your
little sister. This of course only applies to people living or able
to travel to NYC on a regular basis! Whether you travel by dirigible
or by clawing your way over the corpses of your enemies, makes no
difference to us, just be dead-icated to wreaking havoc with Hate in
the Box!
Aside from that, we had a poll on the site as to what communities
you all prefer to have us post on and Livejournal won by a landslide!
Yes the dreaded harbinger of online angst will now be turned to a
newer, spookier cause, a meeting place for fans of HITB! There are
already a bunch of posts in there, many of them by our newest band member!
While you're perusing that you can also brainwash... I mean, introduce
yourself in the special Getting to know you before we eat your brains
post, in the community. You can read the
posts here: http://www.livejournal.com/community/hate_in_the_box/
And join up here:
http://www.livejournal.com/userinfo.bml?user=hate_in_the_box
With that said, do you think we should still keep the Yahoo group, now
that we have our official mailing list, a myspace music profile
(www.myspace.com/hateinthebox) AND the LJ community? Should we simply
go back to beaming the updates directly into your skull via our zombie
penguin satellite, despite the sometimes horrifying side effects? Vote
yay or nay, today! souffle! enchante! something-ay!
If you don't vote, than that's a Nay. We'll be decided by the end of
the day... I mean week...ay!
Rock on,
Rainbow Blight-ay!
www.hateinthebox.com
look forward to seeing you guys again live. i also look forward to
buying some more of your albums. i rather buy albums then down load
it just saves me the hasself of burning it onto a disc to free up
space on my hard drive.
anyway if there is a show let us know and i will come. and i'll
drag shani along with me along with some co workers.

Sad as that is, nobody's going to boycott anything. Most music lovers
don't realize there's only four record labels
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Four_record_labels) so even when
they try to avoid giving money to someone they give it up, blissfully

It's like people who hate Phillip Morris making Jell-O shots. Jell-O

I try not to mention things like this because people start feeling

Maybe I'll start helping other artists release their stuff this coming

Hi,
I am glad you both had a really great time in Japan and I can't wait to see
pictures.
I personally don't down load music. I am an old fashioned cd kind of gal. I say
you should give your customers a choice. They could buy a cd or down load it or
even down load certain songs. A lot of places on line and some stores let you
here part or the whole song for free but if you want to burn it or get the cd
you got to pay the big bucks. I always thought a single was the most popular
song. Of course you are going to like every song you make it. It is what the
people like the most. Atleast that is what I always thought. I never heard of
the band Otto's Daughter and if I have I never knew their name. I am like that
with a lot of my music because in the past my friends gave me a lot of mixed cds
with no names of any kind. I just make it up the names of the songs and label my
cds with an x or a number. Pathetic right?

Subject: [Hate In The Box] Sept 10th cancelled
We just saw that automated reminder go out and let out a collective
WHOOPS! So here's letting you know that the Sept 10th show is
cancelled. Most of you already know, but figured we'd avoid confusion
by posting here. We don't really know why, some kind of cataclysmic
something or other I'm sure.
So anyway, what *may* be happening Sept 10th is me rocking a song or
two with Things Outside The Skin live at the Crash Mansion party. Info
on that can be found o'er yonder at http://www.outside-the-skin.com
I've been messing around the last hour or two writing lines to go
over some songs of theirs and we're not sure which songs we'll do,
but I have some hunches and by Wednesday when I go to their secret
music compound beneath the earth's mantle I'll know whether we'll be
forging ahead with the idea. It's going to be a blast I'm sure =D
Rock on!

Hey Blight et al,
Now that New Orleans is no more, and won't be functional for many
months, obviously the plan to do a show in early November is a no go.
Do you plan to play a show elsewhere in Louisiana this year instead?
Baton Rouge, maybe?

Yeah this is one of my favorites already. It's bouncy and rock! :)
This seems to be a good way to find out what to put on the set list

Too cheery. ;=)
Blight, there are restrictions on using the F word more than five times
in any song. See link below for details:

I think I hit the big red button on the mail-o-matic too many times
and you all got more than one copy of the most recent mailing. If
so... take your pick of oops! or doh! and send the extras to friends
:-P
We've been browsing around through the profiles of some of you who
link to us on MySpace and LiveJournal and Xanga and all those kinds of
sites and I just want to say THANKS to all of you who list us in your
interests/music section and especially you guys who link us or put a
banner or whatever.
The most recent shiny new banner Blight designed is this one:

which is the style we plan to have on the shirts for this tour coming
up too!
Keep rocking!

Hello Toys and Ghouls!
Welcome to the latest installment of news from your favorite
troublemakers, HATE IN THE BOX! We've got a couple of juicy bits, and
some of it applies specifically to those of you who do NOT live in NY.
LAST CBGB SHOW EVER
For those that DO live in NYC, we have a special event this Monday
August 8th! We're playing our last show ever at CBGB's Gallery! Not
only is it our goodbye to this historic venue, but it's our first 16
and over show in a long time! NYC has been getting more and more
strict about all ages shows but after a quick skim of Hypnosis for
Dummies we were able to make this show available to all of you sixteen
and over!
Doors open at 10 and we hit the stage at 11, followed by Drop Dead
Gorgeous and DJ Jason! It's $6 to get in and Alchemy is always a blast
with great music spinning and strong drinks all night! For those of
you who did not realize that CBGB's is closing, you can go to
www.saveCBGB.org and find out what's happening and how you can help.
Subway Directions: CBGB's 313 gallery is located at 313 Bowery
between 1st and 2nd street. The nearest trains to CBGB are the
2nd Ave stop on the F train and the Bleecker Street stop on the 6
train. Both are about a block away from the club. For a map go here:

HATE IN THE BOX U.S. TOURY-GO-ROUND
Don't miss out on our next shows here in NYC because come November,
Hate in the Box is going on tour! That's right! And we can't wait
to see you all finally! We'll be putting up the locations of our
shows as they are confirmed. When the city nearest you is announced,
email us and let us know if you want to be part of the Zombie Penguin
Death Squad or street team and you'll be contacted in super secret
agent fashion about what to do next ;)
We'll be touring with fellow lunatics Things Outside the Skin and
escaped sideshow freaks from the Coney Island Sideshow! One can only
imagine how much fun this will be! The colorful carnival of rock that
is Hate In The Box, a trio of lunatics combining Ministry with Faith
No More, and the sword swallowing, fire breathing, poke in the eye
surviving Lucky Devil Circus Sideshow!
This is the show that you will be bragging about when you're all 112
years old saying "Back in my day we had WAY better shows than this
crap you kids go to see!"

you should play :)
Well we may not be on that show but at this August 8th party we might
be having Kerry (singer/guitarist from Anathema Device) doing some
songs with us. We're not sure what we'll play together just yet
(suggestions?) but I'm sure it'll be a good time no matter what :D
