Tom Benjamin and Friends: The HCC/UUCC/Peabody Connection.
The concert features Tom Benjamin, a student of Kyle Coughlin, and
the Jazz Program of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of
Columbia's Music Ministry. Performing will be the Chalice Messengers
quintet, the Chalice Chanteusies, and HCC faculty Kyle Coughlin.
Music includes jazz classics, originals and show tune standards from

"For the past fourteen years, The Gemini Piano Trio have been thrilling
audiences across America and around the world with their virtuoso
technique, rich tone, and dedicated artistry.  For this concert, they will
play for you a beloved trio by Brahms, a deliciously colorful trio by
Leclair, and an excitingly eclectic work by American composer, George
Rochberg."
Pianist Hsiu Hui Wang, violinist Sheng-Tsung Wang and cellist
Benjamin Myers are members of the Gemini Piano Trio and are
members of the HCC music faculty.

Dichterliebe and works by J. S. Bach, G. F. Handel, Henri Duparc and
Roger Quilter will be performed as well as songs from the Broadway
stage by various composers.

Dear Members of the HCC-Music Yahoo Groups:

I wish you all a happy and musical 2008!  We have a really exciting
season of concerts scheduled for the Spring Semester of 2008.  Our
spring concert series features not only our faculty artists, but also
artists from Peabody Conservatory, Howard County Public School
System, and even the "President's Own" Marine Chamber Orchestra.
Besides this wonderful group of performers, our program is also
diversified.  In addition to a series of classical programs, there is
a concert in February featuring music of African American Composers,
a concert in March with music for the Celtic harp, and a concert in
April of American Art Songs and Cabaret Selections.  We invite you to
join us for any one or all of the performances.

All of the concerts take place in the Monteabaro Recital Hall at
Howard Community College.  We accept cash and checks for ticket
purchase.  The tickets for the Faculty Concerts are $15 general, $10
seniors, and $5 HCC faculty, staff, and students with ID.  The
Spotlight Concerts are free, and the HCC Music Department Concerts
are $5.  I will continue to email announcements about each concert;

You are cordially invited to the Octtava Piano Duo Concert on Sunday,
November 11, 2007 at 3:00pm in the Monteabaro Recital Hall at Howard
Community College.  HCC piano faculty Wei-Der Huang and Hsien-Ann Meng
present music for two pianos. Program includes Ravel's La Valse,
Saint-Saens's Carnival of the Animals, Bernstein's Symphonic Dance
Suite from West Side Story, and Sally Chen's Spider in the Mirror.
Seating is limited in the Monteabaro Recital Hall, please reserve your
tickets early with Dr. Deborah Kent at 410-772-4914 or Hsien-Ann Meng
at 410-772-4107 in the Music Department.

General admission $15, Seniors $10, HCC faculty, staff, and students

anniversary of the Monteabaro Recital Hall with music on November 1,
2007 at 7:30pm! The faculty of HCC Music Department comes together
with music for everyone! Program includes music for voice, guitar,
piano trio, piano duo, and piano four-hand.  Seating is limited in the

You are cordially invited to a HCC Faculty Concert featuring Deborah
Kent, soprano and Karin Orenstein, piano.  They will perform vocal
works by Claude Debussy, Joseph Marx, Stefano Donaudy, and local
composers.  Concert will take place on Sunday, October 21 at 4:00pm in
the Monteabaro Recital Hall.  Tickets are $15 general admission, $10
seniors, $5 HCC faculty, student, and staff.  Call 410-772-4914 or
