Hey Heuristics Fans!
I know that most people here aren't currently involved in making music,
but I've got a fun project that you could take part in to try it out.
It's a remix project, where I supply the world with samples from a song of
mine, people can download the samples and make a song with them, creating
their own interpretations of the source material. It's a lot of fun and
can be done with some programs you can find on the net in demo versions.
The remix project is hosted at this site:
http://www.remixfight.com/fight0003/
It's a song called "Soft Orange Glow" and features me singing and stuff.
RemixFight is a new project where there is a set time limit to create
remixes. Anyone can go there, get the loops, and create a remix. At the
end of the project (march 14 for this one) people will review the remixes
and vote for their favorite. It's a good way to have people hear your
stuff and get feedback on how you're doing!
If you don't want to enter the contest, you can still try out remixing for
fun. I'd love to hear what people do with the sounds. I'll also offer
this project on heuristicsinc.com after the fight is over.
For those who haven't done this sort of thing, here are a couple of
programs that offer free demo versions for download:
Acid: (time limited version)

Audiomulch: (fully functional demo, written by only one guy!)

Enjoy... and check out the remixes other people did on March 14!
