Hello all,
Gig at the Hop & Grape, Manchester University Students Union, Oxford
Road, Manchester (capacity 400). Tickets (selling fast) are £10 plus
£1.50 booking fee, unfortunately, available now from
http://www.ticketline.co.uk/event_availability.asp?EventId=14686&PerformanceId=344119
(this link takes you straight to the purchase page). I guess
they will also be available from Piccadilly Box Office (Virgin Megastore,
Market Street) or the University of Manchester Students Union (Oxford
Road). If you're paying in cash, you're advised to go to the UMSU and
avoid the booking fee. If there's any left on the night, they'll be £12
on the door.
UPDATE You can now buy tickets by post - send a stamped addressed
envelope and a cheque/postal order for £10 made payable to MATERIALISE to
the following address:
University of Manchester Students Union
Oxford Road
Manchester
M13 9PR
and, obviously, tell them which gig it's for.

DIRECTIONS c/o Andy Martin:
"Oxford Road is the main road in/out of Manchester that caters for
the student population. If you're on a road that has an Odeon Cinema, the
BBC, The Cornerhouse cinema and the new Commonwealth Games swimming pool
then you're on Oxford Road.
Head out of Manchester city centre until you reach a crossroads - the
swimming pool should be on your left and the University of Manchester
buildings in front of you. Carry straight on for about half a mile until
you see a building with some steps leading up into it. If the building
after it is the Academy then you're at the right building. Present your
ticket at the door, or pay if you're feeling lucky, and you'll be
directed to the downstairs bar or the gig itself if the Hop&Grape has
opened.
The Hop&Grape is two floors up. You'll know you've reached it when
you see Geoff Davies sat at a table full of merchandise."

FILMING c/o Andy Martin:
The gig will be recorded to film and, if all goes well, sold next
year
on video.
Rather than just a film of the gig, the plan is to include "vox
pops" with
members of the audience (before and after the gig) and a bit of
backstage
footage of Neil tuning his banjo and Ken's much vaunted "tantric
guitar
pose" routine prior to the gig.
To this end, the film maker thought it a good idea to request questions
from
anyone attending (or not in some cases) the gig in order to put them to
the
band. That way the audience can feel they've contributed in some way to
the
final result.
So, anything you've always wanted to ask the band? They don't have to
be
specific or relevant and they don't all HAVE to be directed at Nigel.
Post
them onto this board, or direct to me if you feel too embarrassed to
reveal
them in front of everyone. I'll print them and pass them on to the
director
so she can put them to the band on the night. Her only request is that
you
leave a name (pseudonym or otherwise) and where you're from so it can
be
included in the "interview" on the night.
You have been warned...
Gez.
